I've purchased a few domains, I bought them through SnapNames, they were really easy. Good prices too for the domains I got.

I kind of surprised this post didn't get any comments, this is an awesome tool :)

I recently re-activated the twitter to mobile updates and I've found that RSS to mobile is a great addition to staying updated.

just about to sign up to pingie, we'll see how it goes.

in Facebook, MySpace Become Mainstream Marketing Vehicles on Marketing Pilgrim
I would say that these properties were mainstream medias before this report, honestly. The amount of sway and influence that MySpace has on the world is astounding. They have so much power just by a few advertisements on their homepage.

Facebook doesn't have the same kind of sway though, because of how "clean" they've kept their platform.

Facebook has given users less control, therefor giving themselves less control, while MySpace has done the opposite and handed over a lot more control to the users, giving themselves more control.

I feel they've been mainstream for a while now, not just recently.

Interesting service, although I would have a really hard time using their links every time.

I would see more value in it if it were utilizing something like a Firefox extension or something of that nature.

I'm definitely all for this. Looks like it might be the next generation of interaction between blogs and twitter.

Right now, it's very linear and flat, not much interaction besides posting a link on twitter and having someone click through it. Being able to quantifiably track it will be awesome.

in 2009/01/08/radio-streaming-flycast-android/ on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
I've found that both Flycast and AOL Radio are still spotty at best when streaming with the 3G connection.

The only time I ever used these apps was when I wiped out all my music and had to reload it all, so I had no music and wanted some tunes.

I was really unhappy with both apps. Hopefully they will fix the apps for better buffing and streaming using faster connections.

I'm definitely hoping that and looking forward to more bands embracing this kind of publicity and action. Many bands are still quite picky about filming, distribution, and overall promotion other than promotion they have authorized.

Personally, I've contacted a number of bands directly and been able to photography a lot of concerts with their permission, but not everyone has that luxury.

in No Comment on Chris Brogan
Chris, It's a nice reminder sometimes to read and see that even though not every post I write gets a comment, the content is still worth putting out and voicing my opinion.

I've found that I write because I enjoy writing, and enjoy publishing the news, rather than doing it for the engagement or for the money -- since my blog doesn't make much, I can't really do it for the money. I do it more for the love of blogging.

in I Am Not A Woman Blogger on Pleasure and Pain
I'm with you on this one Whitney. I do not see a reason why there needs to be a conference just about women bloggers.

It's been tempting to create a BlogHim conference, but then all the women would think I'm sexist, which I'm not.

I really do not see a reason to actually create the distinction about women and men bloggers, it's just one big blogosphere family to start with! Com'n people!

But you're entirely right, Whitney. Your post sums it up well.

in Facebook’s Tainted Brand Image? on AllFacebook
Kids, teenagers, and adults, all have their own view of social networks and search engines.

Search engines, it's hard to "hate" them because they only serve one purpose, to search for stuff.

Social networks, however, serve multiple purposes.

People can easily do without a social network, but they cannot do without a search engine.

I personally dont like myspace, but I do like facebook. Simply my social network of choice, that's all.

I think these "bad" tags come from people that just don't like one or the other or don't like social networks in general.

And again, you can't really hate search engines, that's just plain dumb.

in Don’t Make Your Product Free. Charge for it! on Social Times
That's actually a really good business model because simple advertising is not cutting it anymore. There is more out there than just advertising and it's coming down to what you can offer that people are willing to pay for.

Create a great service, but don't give it away for free -- people may not value it as highly.

Definitely a fun party!  Smaller than normal Google parties, but it was a great networking event.
