in Has Adventure Tourism Gone Too Far? on Travel Generation - talking bout a generation
Sorta weird reading this because I don't really consider that stuff adventure tourism. Maybe it is though because it is all tour, guided type stuff purely for quick bouts of adrenaline. Nothing against adrenaline, I love it, or the way people pay to find it. I guess I prefer adventure travel, a motorcycle ride across the Himalaya or Kayaking in Alaska sounds more like an adventure to me. Semantics I guess.

People make their own choices though and much of the west goes so over the top with safety it kills the experience, doing this stuff in less regulated places is like stepping back to those good old days your parents talk of where people were held responsible for their decisions and didn't pass the buck onto someone else in the hope of a nice cash payout.

in Another Way to Travel on Almost Fearless
There is only one way to travel...

You're own way, so long as you are doing what works for you you're traveling right. That's not to say though that you should not always look for ways you could make your travel experiences better.

Looking forward to your next post.

in BIG NEWS and Sneak Peek - Tim Ferriss TV Show Debut 12/4 on The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss
It looks pretty interesting Tim, unfortunately being in Oz and without cable I can't +1 your ratings but I'll definitely watch first chance that arises.

in “faster than a bell clapper in a goose’s ass” on Finance Your Freedom
Remember those bell shaped wooden "instruments" with two pieces of wood tied either side to the middle handle? You shake it side to side and it claps. I reckon if you put one of them up a gooses but it'd get a good workout. lol.

Great post, money is freedom in this world, they are just two different sides of the same coin, no pun intended. First post of yours I've read but I have subscribed, looking forward to more great content.

in 100 Must-Read Books: The Essential Man’s Library on Art of Manliness
The Bible? Meh, nothing in there you can't learn from any other book of faith. Koran, Dhammapada, Ashtavakra Gita, Torah, Daozang, etc.

in Backing Up on Everything Everywhere
I think you have your options right, It's either DVD or an external HDD. DVD will be the safest but the HDD will be easier and faster. You can get 250Gb for $100 in Oz now. I'd be that way inclined. If you are sending them to someone in the US you could possibly just have a rotation going sending them back and forth.

in What Happened to Wartime Sacrifice? on Art of Manliness
While the "war on terror" may be very different than WW2 one thing is the same, it still uses military power and the sacrifices made by civilians in the 40s supported the military directly. The military still needs support so why no sacrifice? I don't think there is a simple answer it a cultural change and the US gov has realised that.

in Borobudur: Icon of Indonesia on Everything Everywhere
I'm looking forward to Borobudur, it looks like Prambanan is a must see too. What sort of presence does Merapi have in the area? Merapi will be another must for me a good first Volcano I think.

Are you still heading to Tasmania? If you are interested in couchsurfing and coming to Hobart I might be able to accommodate.
