Shankar Ganesh, I guess you're right! Because, these people doesn't just leave it quite you see? They already started another campaign for New 7 Wonders of Nature (Read my another post on this). So, I think you're Right. It might be a scam to make money. I'm now regretting myself that I wasted $4 on purchasing two certificates from them for Taj Mahal to be elected one of the New 7 Wonders.

P.S. I guess many who paid $2 for that certificate would've regretted now. Anyways, we're now Alert!

You're right Sankar Anand. All we want is to win and we did. Surprisingly there's one benefit of this New Wonders thing.

It showed that Indians are still like minded and patriotic when it comes to Nation. Otherwise, Taj Mahal wouldn't've selected with highest votes.

We can be proud for that. Also I'll be happy if the Natural Wonders included Himalayas and Everest.

Hi SandeshG,

For showing the hidden files, you need to change a Registry key, I've modified my Post above with the change. For your information, here is the key you need to change.

Step 1: Open Registry Editor by Start -> Run -> REGEDIT

Step 2: Navigate to My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\

Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL

Step 3: Change the CheckedValue and DefaultValue to 1

Step 4: Close the Registry Editor and Open Windows Explorer by pressing Windows Key + E

Step 5: Open Tools -> Folder Options and select View tab and check the Show all files and folders under Hidden files and folders option.

Step 6: You're Done!

பாமினி என்பது எழுத்துரு (Font). அதை நீங்கள் வலைப்பக்கங்களில் உபயோகப்படுத்தினால் அந்த எழுத்துரு இருக்கும் கணினிகளில் மட்டுமே தெரியும். அது மட்டுமில்லாமல் பாமினி எழுத்துரு மற்ற இயங்குதளங்களில் கிடைக்காததால் அவர்களால் உங்கள் தமிழ் எழுத்துக்களைப் பார்க்கவே முடியாது. இதற்கு மாற்றாக வந்ததுதான் யூனிகோடு. யூனிகோட் இன்றைய நவீன இயங்குதளங்கள் (Operating Systems) அணைத்திலும் இருக்கின்றது ஆதலால் நீங்கள் தமிழில் எழுதும் எந்தவொரு எழுத்தையும் அவர்கள் தெளிவாக பார்க்கலாம்.

What do you mean by you've been recently affected by friend's mobile? As far as I know, this Virus doesn't spreads through Mobiles. I guess your friend might've used the Extended Memory Card as an USB Drive and got this Virus loaded in that. In that case, you can use the same methods specified above to clear it.

மொபைல் போன்களில் தற்பொழுது யூனிகோடு முறை கொண்டுவரப் படவில்லை. தமிழ் எழுத்துருக்களைக் கொடுக்கும் சில நோக்கியா மொபைல் மாடல்களும் யூனிகோடு பயன்படுத்துவதில்லை.

ஆனால் பி.டி.ஏ எனப்படும் கைக்கணினி மொபைல்களில் யூனிகோடு முறையில் உருவாக்கிய PDF பைல்களை காணலாம். ஆனால் அவற்றை மாற்றம் செய்யவோ அல்லது புதிதாக தமிழில் அடிக்கவோ முடியாது. இந்த யூனிகோடு வசதி அணைத்து விண்டோஸ் இயங்குதளம் கொண்ட கைக்கணினிகளிலும் சில சிம்பியன் இயங்குதளம் கொண்ட கைக்கணினிகளிலும் காணக் கிடைக்கின்றது.

Yes, I completely agree with you that there are more MP3/MP4 players around that overcome all the negatives of iPod Shuffle. Still, the main catch about iPods is their cool looks and easy carriage. Especially iPod Shuffle is the easiest one to carry around (of course not to mention that it's the easiest to be lost). Somehow, Apple was able to pack tremendous amount of battery backup and 1 GB space in that small thing that makes it the ultimate choice of music lovers. All said, I still agree you're absolutely right!

Even though you trust me very much, please don't reveal your mobile phone numbers in public like this. That's always dangerous (I've edited your comment and replaced them with 'X's so no problems).

I don't know how came two comments are placed on the same post with different mobile numbers and different names of same problem and same description. I guess it's either one of you who's so desperate to find the mobile that had you to post in my blog with two different names. Anyways, thinking you're a genuine reader of The Gadget Freak, I'm answering you here.

First of all, the software that's being discussed in this post is not yet out for commercial release. So, that won't help you now.

But, you can do two things. One is, you can ask the Idea company to block your SIM Card. The next one is asking them to track down your mobile. For the first one, you just need to provide a letter. For the second one, you need to file a Case with local Police Station and then with their help try to locate the phone if you remember the IMEI number.

For all those who doesn't know their IMEI Number, there is two ways of finding it. If you have the handset, type *#06# and your IMEI Number is immediately displayed. If you don't have the handset as in your case, please find your original bill where they will mention the IMEI Number.

First of all, please try to understand that Gadget Freak can only help people by giving answers to their questions. We can never give services like finding stolen mobiles. All we can give is the ways to find mobiles.

You've done the right thing by filing an FIR, but go to your service provider and then show them the FIR and ask them to trace the mobile. If the thief isn't using your SIM card, then you should go to Nokia people to trace or just block your mobile by the IMEI number. As the police dosen't take mobile theft seriously, it's least chance to get back your mobile. So, at least make it unusable by the thief by blocking the IMEI number.

And lastly, I recommend not to poast as comments these kinds of personal questions which will expose you. We've GadgetFreak Answers just for you all. Send your questions to answers@thegadgetfreak.info and we will answer them as posts after eliminating your personal details.

Yeah, I too sometimes felt very bad about the products I bought from eBay. But still, I'm a big fan of them as I used to buy the most from there. All we need to do is, choose the Best Seller by his reputation and previous experiences and feedback. Anyways, I completely agree your point in buying mobiles from eBay.

The Nokia 3110c comes with internal font adjusting. You can adjust the font sizes of Contacts and Messages according to their specifications. But there is NO software available for increasing the font size of this mobile as it runs on Series 40 interface.

I would still suggest you to get a Nokia 6070 which in my opinion is the BEST for your needs. Just try whether any local dealer is having that mobile.

Hi Akhil,

I'm very much sure that Nokia 3110c (Series 40) does not have any software program to increase the font sizes. Please try Nokia 6070. Again, I should say, Nokia 6070 doesn't have any external software either. It just has the ability inbuilt and meant for older people. Just try it before you actually buy from the dealer. I hope it doesn't disappoint you.

You're really embarrassing me. We The Gadget Freak never mentioned that we offer any kind of stolen mobile finding service. Whoever informed you like that has been greatly misinformed. I'm really sorry, but I have to ask you to read the Post you're commenting on before commenting on the same. This post talks about a software that can help find your stolen mobile. It never talks about any other service offerings. This software is not yet out in market (as to my knowledge). If it's out, we will publish the software here so that you can get one and install in your future mobile and prevent it from stolen.

As of now, please follow up with your Police Case along with your Service Provider. There is simply nothing we can do to help you.

I'm sorry to hear about this. Anyway, as far as I know, mobile tracking in India has not yet reached the Private Detectives. Some influential highly skilled detectives can do it with some help from internal Police personnel.

However, I strongly recommend you to aproach a Detective and find out whether they can do it. But their charges may be heavy.
