I quickly explore the poses and breakdowns I want, not worried about drawing mistakes and only concerned with how clear it reads. Flipbook just helps me experiment with the timing of the poses I've figured out on paper, and it's a more intuitive alternative, at least for me, than shifting around that thin red keyframe mark in Maya. Once that's down, I pretty much use that information to transfer into Maya.

My question, however, is similar Adam P's (Your last name wouldn't happen to be Petrone, would it?). How would you go about figuring out the correct timing of your work just on paper? I usually never know until I've seen it in a sequence of some kind, and that's where Flipbook plays its hand. So, something that I think may only need 5 frames on paper, may possibly need more or less. Mostly becaused it sucked, and what kept me awake was the (unwillingly) funny episodes.

On top of that, it seems very convenient that Harry loses his memory - that allows them to repeat the story with the lovetriangle from SM2. Meh.

The movie was all "pew pew, we're out of story" - in my opinion they should have focused a lot more (and in a better way) on "The Battle Within" and removed one of the villains. A darker, less "omgipwn"-attitude and the movie might have been worth the time.

Re: European Wine Blogger Conference 2008

This is a very good idea - I've put up a brief post about this to appear 24th January. On the other hand, having a lights-out relief "ace" who you can run out to preserve leads in close and important games is under valued. Whether it's more valuable than what Papelbon MAY have done as a starter is also open to debate (even if it's a moot point because we'll probably never know what he could do as a starter).

In the final analysis, if this is indeed what he wanted and the team agrees that it's a safe move, then I'm on board. If another reliever emerges with a good year, the back end of close games won't be the ulcer-inducing roller-coaster they've been in years past.

j

Re: Child Prodigy, 13, now adds a college degree to his resume

Somehow I find that article sad, already 9 and does he get to play on monkeybars, experience lifes experiences at the appropriate age.

Did you ever just nail it!

I've been entrenched in sales, marketing and technology for 20+ years but I evangelize social media now.

I use social media in every aspect of my personal and professional life and yet I find myself just starting to grasp its potential. I say this even though my consulting practice is based largely on advising companies on social media and web technologies. :) I get it intuitively, but my rational, reasoning side is still busy trying to figure out if the world ends in a cliff or continues on over a horizon. I think that makes me pretty similar to most folks - we're all just starting to get a clue as to how to use it.

I keep harping on the theme that all this technology we're using is for people to better relate to each other, to better understand more about our differences and accomplish more through more informed action. More in richer relationships, more in marketing, more in business, more in learning, more in life, more to help other people. The applications are endless if we keep the focus on using the tools to better ourselves and others.

I haven't written half as good a post as you have here but you can follow some of my own musings on my biz blog exceler8ion.

My dad and I are having a conversation right now on social media through the lens of web 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 as it relates to new technology, media and human traits. Spaceships? Etc?). So a separate tribe/sect/corporation of Goblins which was never before heard of and is aligned with the Horde is a stretch but well within Blizzard's guildelines for stretching.

Worgen on the Alliance, on the other hand... does not compute so well. The only option they'll have is to finally go ahead and open up Gilneas as a starting area (5 years after launch) but I can already hear the ulcers forming in the stomachs of all the poor Blizzard writers assigned to this. Trying to make it fit the lore.

Gilneas -broke- from the Alliance on purpose, isolated themselves to avoid the Plague and got turned into Worgen (short story). There's no way to make this work other than... "oh look, a faction of Worgen whom no one has heard of before is breaking isolation and joining the Alliance. Huzzah, etc."

*Yawn*

I hope they surprise me, but they've been writing themselves into corners for years.

Re: http://owedtojoy.blogspot.com/2009/04/12-11-10-9-8.html

Forms Processing applications let you recognize forms filled in by hand in order to automate data entry tasks.
