so, does it only work if you are on a wifi network? And, does the app have to be currently running in order to receive text alerts? This is the main difference between real SMS and all of these free text apps. Most fre text apps cannot alert you of a text unless you have the app currently open.

I try to do a balance of "thought" pieces and "how-to" pieces, because I believe that google searchers are looking for an article to teach them something and your core group of readers are looking for your opinion or thoughts on a certain subject or area of interest.

I recently bought the developer's version of Thesis, and I hope to use it on all websites that I develop. It's good to hear so many good recommendations about it, because I have been searching for a Wordpress theme that doesn't require you to be a whiz a PHP and CSS.

look at this crazy market, no news is good news. unbelievable. The only thing that makes me think this market is still bearish is the fact that no one is investing based on the actual facts and figures. Its purely emotional investing.

I am trying to think of the scenarios that could make this market go bearish again. There are plenty out there, but they might occur until people start realizing that Obama's eonomic policies are not working, which could take 6 to 12 months to sink into investor's and consumer's heads. His policies will not be analyzed or scrutinized until people get over the initial awe of his presidency.

I just bought in spy 88 put at $2.58. Hopefully it works out because i got caught on selling too quickly with the gap ups on monday.

how does JCP look in your system? $28 seems way too high for this stock. You shorted it at 22.5 last time

i don't like earnings season. After seeing WFC gain ridiculous amounts, going short on the s&p makes me scared that a couple more good earnings reports could send the s&p to 880-890.

i want to buy a may put on FAZ or GS, since they are so cheap right now, but I think I will wait until monday. three days of no trading is too risky. If some more good earnings data comes out, we could get another move up monday.

what do you think of some may puts on financials? I think the market frenzy over wells fargo's quarterly profits is overvaluing the sector a little bit. there is still a lot of bad debt on these company's books and credit card defaults are still an issue.

with all of the buzz about bankruptcy for GM, I wonder if an april or may put would be a good play. Probably a little too risky. Who knows, in this market, it might move up with the news of bankruptcy!

cool, thanks for the quick reply. I figured that AAPL would be something to look at today. I will see about getting in at the end of the day. Tomorrow looks like it will a good shorting day.

@optionstars - what do you guys think about going short on AAPL 110? I was thinking about looking at it this afternoon after this rally dies off.

I will be looking to buy SPY once this morning rally fades. I agree that if S&P gets to 820-830 today, we will see a sell-off tomorrow. SPY 82 might be a good move if it is cheap today.

I think it's a great short-term solution, because there are three factors causing the high gas prices, in my opinino:

1. Not enough supply for a growing demand
2. Too much dependence on foreign oil (over 70%)
3. Speculators driving up the price, because they KNOW that the supply is not there

If you start drilling off-shore, you reduce our dependence on the middle east and you smack the speculators in the mouth, because now they can't "speculate" the price to go higher when they know that supply will increase in a few years.

About your second point, naive americans will never care what kind of energy they are using. We just want it and at a fair price. So, I don't think it will stop scientist and researchers from putting money and resources into alternative sources. they know that it is the future and they can make a ton of money by becoming the leader in efficient, abundant alternative energy resources. I think you should re-think your position on this.

Good advice. I agree that you need to "steal" a property for it to be worth while as an investment property that actually makes money. Although, paying cash doesn't hurt either. I know it sounds foreign for people to think about saving up enough money to pay cash for an investment property, but I think it can be done.
