in Shrinking Cities Across the Pond on The Washington Independent
I am a huge advocate of shrinking cities and urban redevelopment. I have seen the spread of development in way too many cities and how it ruins the inner areas and then depletes the areas of important resources.

Can anyone explain why people even smoke anymore? I mean really how dumb can people still be?

in TWI’s Mary Kane Takes Multiple SPJ Awards for Foreclosure Crisis Reporting on The Washington Independent
Congrats Mary!

I know how hard it is to write such a compelling story and being able to seperate yourself emotionally from it, to write an honest piece.

Keep up the good work.

Seems like there is always something with any appointment of anyone. It is all hearsay and quite annoying.

You've made the moral standards of those who morals were the worst part of the morals in America stronger. What an idiot. How many more days until you go back to Texas FOREVER!?

in Blagojevich Apparently Unaware He’s Been Accused of Corruption on The Washington Independent
This guy is living in his own world right now. A world where doing the wrong thing means not actually owning up to it. Also I think his hair is suffocating his brain.

in Star-Studded Lineup For Inaugural Opener Announced on The Washington Independent
Damn that is one hell of a line up. Even more impressive the names and the amount of them are the backing bands which will have to be able to adapt to so many songs and artists.

in Colorado Makes History on The Washington Independent
It really speaks to as far we have come as a state here in Colorado. From the KKK in the 1920's to having the first with having two African-Americans as leaders of the Senate and House of Representatives is amazing.

It is also interesting considering we do not have a very high African-American population compared to many other states in the country.

in Minnesota Board Certifies Franken as Winner on The Washington Independent
Alright Al Franken...I hope he actually bring some sarcasm to the Senate that will shed light on some of the stupid stuff that goes on there.

in Shotgun Wedding No More on The Washington Independent
Well the name is about the worst I've ever heard in my entire life and like my boss just reminded everyone that having a baby out of Wedlock is a SIN.

In all honesty I wish this wasn't even a news story...

in To Reiterate: The Bailout Won’t Help the Big Three Unless Folks Start Buying Cars Again on The Washington Independent
I'm not surprised by this...there are already plenty of cars on the roads today and certainly enough for everyone to have one. For the time being I am going to drive my car until the wheels fall right off the thing....because it's still a great car, with great gas mileage and still runs great. No need to buy a new one.

in Why Shouldn’t Dick Cheney Decide For Himself Which Of His Papers You Get To See? on The Washington Independent
I hope they go after this guy harder and faster than anyone who's left office before. With all the companies he was a part of that failed earlier in this decade, I just know something is up.

in Franken Appears Likely to Overtake Coleman in Minn. Senate Race on The Washington Independent
Absolutely...what is the chance of this ending back up in court after the recount. Its one thing when you have a recount and you still win be a large margin. Its another when the person trailing wins, and does by a small margin.

Also, why weren't the absentee ballots counted in the first place. Is that saying that you still have the right to vote, but we won't count it unless we actually need to.

Why is every going nuts about this. It isn't like he is going to start preaching and he's clearly a better choice, then say Jessie Jackson, right?

in Maybe Blagojevich Didn’t Do Anything Wrong After All… on The Washington Independent
How can this not be considered criminal. Isn't a plot to do something illegal, essentially punishable as well, although not to the same extent.

Right?

in Throw Your Shoes at The Iraqi ‘Justice’ System on The Washington Independent
From what I've heard there is going to be a little punishment, physical, stemming from shoe attack. However, I continue to ask myself what would have happened if that were here in America and Joe Sidewalk decided to chuck his shoes at Bush?

Probably get 5-10 don't you think?

gifts Does anybody know what happened to this guy?. I heard that he was sentenced harshly by the iraqi court. Does anybody have any details of how long is he sent to prison for?.

in Salazar to Lead Scandal-Ridden Interior Dept. on The Washington Independent
This is great news. I know Salazar personally and I know that he will do a great job. He has already fought so hard for us here in Colorado and I know he will restore some of the conservation efforts and creating a more friendly environment for people to visit.

And like you said before he was a moderate democrat and with the way this state has shifted in recent years could really put someone in his place to really go in line with Obama's plan. Reports from Denver have mentioned Mayor Hickenlooper, John Salazar and Andrew Romanoff, my personal bet on it.

in Automakers Suffering, Regardless of Their Business Model on The Washington Independent
Although I agree that the business model wouldn't really save these companies at the present had they had developed practices to produce hybrid models 10 years ago they would be alright.

If they are able to produce more efficient cars, while replacing their current models people may be more willing to buy hybrid vehicles.

in Facebook adds Washington Post CEO to board of directors on VentureBeat
I just posted over at WebProNews, but I wanted to see what people here thought of this move.

Do you think that Facebook, by adding Graham, will try to target a new niche for news and create a way to incorporate that into current Facebook? Even so I would think they would want to hire somebody young with fresh and creative ideas.

in Obama and Gore to Meet Tuesday on The Washington Independent
The sooner the better in my opinion. It is amazing how he has handled this entire transition so far. As a male I look up the way he handles every aspect of his life and is still above all else someone who is focused on his family and what needs to be done.
