I for one Rick, will use this now. Haven't had a reason before but it seems so easy according to how you taught it here that I'm ready to kick the tires. Thanks Ricky

in Gabi Jack’s Blog has a new location! on GabiJack.com
Hi Gabi,
Gee, I love this new place you got. It can be compared to the difference of a monastary and a modern home. I love it. Good luck with your new home. I'm still stuck in the monastary. :) Did you get the present I sent to you? You gave one back to all of us with this new site. Great job too. Have a happy.

in The Lenovo Dual Screen Laptop. How Would You Use It? on SolidSmack
Hi Al,
I'm still waiting for the paper thin folded laptop with no keyboard to come out. One that can be unfolded onto a large flat surface that can do it all. Larger the better for these older eyes. Do you think that is coming soon buddy? I'm not getting any younger.

Now that is nice. Really nice. Having been born way before TV's ever came along, I have seen a lot of new things and this will go down as one of the nice ones. I guess it is appropriate in this day of age to remark by saying Wow, that is really cool. :)

in Learning Finite Element Analysis and COSMOS Works on GabiJack.com
It will always be a handy tool Gabi. Many times in complex models or large assemblies needing modifications only those specially trained or extremely experienced are assigned to do these studies. I am no where near that level but I have had some hands on experience with it. I would also not put any money on the results that I was able to come up with because of my inexperience with it. I would assume (and that is very dangerous) that it would be much better to learn this under the auspices of someone who has an indept knowledge of its use and application. That way there would not be so much guessing going on in the setup of a study. Bye and keep on going.

in Having fun with cameras in PhotoWorks on GabiJack.com
Extremely interesting post Gabi. Even with my bad eyesight I was able to see the differences in what you tried out. That sounds like a fun thing to do with Photo Works. Oh yeah, Happy Birthday to all of us US Marine out there present, past and future. Today is the Marine Corps Birthday, November 10th 1775. No kidding. Even before we became an official country. As usual it was a great post. Thank you.

in 12 SolidWorks Features You Don’t Need—And How to Turn Them Off on SolidSmack
Absolutely fantastic tips. I even used some of them. Thanks for posting them. I'm not a power user but some of these did bother me and I did not know where to go to get rid of them. Bye.

in Chatting with Marie Planchard on GabiJack.com
Well this was a very enjoyable read for me because the two ladies I know and respect in the SolidWorks realm were just depicted up above in an interview. I agree fully with everything discussed in this blog topic. I have even taught a six year old the program we call SolidWorks. Amazing software program being used and taught to people like myself from efforts put forth by these two ladies. Great interview. Well done, Gabi.

in The Cylons Are Coming and SolidWorks is Helping on SolidSmack
I love it. Finally someone I can look straight in the eyes with and not up at. I'll bet we can even wear the same coats when it gets cold, assuming that the robots are male or are they just "its." Perhaps in not too long from now they will be able to be real helpers and then they can help me with my SolidWorks. HHmmm interesting idea.

Weren't Lego Sets awkward? I was around way before they hit the store shelves. I kind of liked the erector sets more. I still have my son's set in the garage and I use it at times for experimental ideas. :)

in Why Your SolidWorks Models Suck… Memory Out of Your Computer on SolidSmack
This is about right Josh. My computer is slowing down to a crawl at times with a project I am helping our local university. I'd be afraid to go back to try and change anything but my birthday is next week so I am going to get two more gigs of RAM memory for the two I have already.

in Test drive, anyone? on GabiJack.com
Hello Gabi, Got some comments for you my friend and you are one too. First of all as the Jewish culture is known for saying "Cheap is expensive." These people can always request trials to give it a good run test. You can tell them that I am teaching a six year old SolidWorks with the Student Version I was allowed to put on his computer. Then I will write about how a six year old can learn the program. They might be older than six according to your article blog. Now last but not least don't tell them this next comment. It sounds like they are not being pro-active to their own cause. Five years with no hope of a profit and starting to go negative means something in the business plan is not right. I know you want to be nice and helpful like you have been to me but in some cases "you cannot have a mental fight with someone that is not armed." Be careful. We all have tried those other brands and that is exacttly what drove us to SolidWorks.

in Is Jeff Han’s multi-touch in cahoots with Microsoft Surface? on SolidSmack
Hi Josh,
Well as far as that screen size goes I like it. Not having the same good eyesight that I had in the last millenium, bigger is better for me. No beer holder and I can see many things placed on that table top that would reduce the viewable screen size back down to what I am using right now. It does double as a nice table however. I think I still would like my screen in a vertical alignment with my normal working plane. It would be a hard sell for something other than a novelty. I like the way it did things really easy like. Big advantage there. Was SolidWorks used to help design this device???
