Half of the country think any Democrat is either "socialist" or a "communist", not knowing what either term means.  Thousands of hours and acres of print of corporate media and far right radio have transformed this country into a parody of itself.  Any Democratic candidate must carefully deal with the ignorance and irrationality of the voting public who have a completely unrealistic view of the outside world.
