in WHAT do you want to HAVE/FEEL in YOUR life? on The Thinkmaya Blog
Avani - Surprises are the best when we look forward to them :) I have learned to treat the worst of them with the best of attitudes. And I think you will do wonderfully as a mother - you have a super heart and soul :) Mimi - Happiness is fickle, isn't it? Perfectly stated. It requires hard work and massages :) JD - Always love sports analogies cause it opens up a different part of my brain :) On the tech side, I have a WACOM tablet. And a Mac. I even used the style for the Ignite presentation (geekdance.com) I gave recently. It is a great thinking and output tool for me.Claire - I hear ya - it is all of that and more, isn't it? Happiness does not become a habit very easily - but I am glad I have found some in my own life - a deeper connection with peole, a support system and some love for myself :) Jeff- thank you Jeff! Cannot do piggy stuff as good as you though - so I won't even try ;)

Ankur - yup - so many things don't turn out the way we want them to - but surprises are great, aren't they?PositivelyPresent - you being up something so important - it is really impossible to make it to the goal by focusing on the goal alone - we HAVE to see what lies on the road and we have to learn how to drive (positive attitude :))Hi Vered - you must be so happy :) But I wish you got just a little more sleep - but whatever makes you happy:) There are few people in the blog world who are as loved and respected as you are. You are such a constant - thank you for being!

in Play your way into a happy and balanced life on The Thinkmaya Blog
Hi Vered,That is exactly what I meant when I said this - "Play is a change of pace. Play is an activity different from the one we
are doing. Sometimes that is all play is. Play for way too long and
even play starts to seem like work!"I think we all enjoy something SO much that we do it TOO much and then, what we loved about goes away, doesn't it? My answer is in two parts - Practically, are you getting something else out of this to compensate for this different feeling about blogging? Lot of $, building a great brand for yourself etc - that will eventually let you make blogging PLAY again? In that case this change is one that will be well worth it. Then you can look at it as something in the Gotto do pile and survive it for now. Philosophically, no matter what you do, I (my opinion) believe we should really find a way to change our Work into Play sooner than later, cause we should be living mostly for the present. When i am unhappy with something in my life for too long, I strart to become a person I don't like very much ;) - and that is usually my first sign to slow down and change it up :) And I looked at your twitter profile - you ARE a prof blogger - no wonder it has become WORK :)

in The Calm Fire : A journal entry on The Thinkmaya Blog
Barbara, Hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend! It is good to know the calm gets easier with age... I have not felt that way looking at my parents really - I always thought that age brought new insecurities that make life a lot harder for us ...Hi Tricia!Wow - you recognize self-sabotage so well. It took me a while to realize when I get in the cycle of self-sabotage. It is so important to have external strength and support at those times ...you are right ...I am not one to use outside help very often but I wonder what I'd do without my husband :) Hi JD,So true - that right inner dialogue is the key to going upwards or downwards on that spiral, isn't it? Probably explains why I shut myself off from th eworld in times of serious self doubt ....

Hi Avani,Yes, it is often me asking for my own attention - which was a lot easier to give before I had kids ... :) Bu then, having kids has made me somewhat selfish - in a good way. I seem to understand that I shoudl take care of myself if I want to care for them :) Hi Ankur - I will wait for your doodles ;)Hi Davina, is that the unrest of passion that is inside of you or true unrest ?? I am almost jealous of the flow you exhibit on the outside with your writing ;)

Hi Avani,Sorry, missed you earlier!Yes, same theme in both places - I wanted to be consistent (branding) across my blogs. Okay, late to the party -
But I am right in the middle of "writing the lines" for my own startup and I am thinking this -
Whatever I say/do is meant to attract my "target market" isn't it? And as long as it attracts my target market and I am doing business, does it matter that what I am saying does not make sense to someone outside my target?
I am not implying that these people analyzed their target market though ;) but Starbucks certainly does all of that and more when they introduce "cheaper instant coffee" and call it something else :)

in One Way to Move Content Around on Chris Brogan
Carries on nicely from the last post. What comes with being on the content marketing side of the equation is a niche, a focus and most often (since you need people to actually create content) is a community with a strong sense or passion in that niche. And this works way better than Triond for example is that when content creators and consumers overlap through one single passion we have a community that holds its own - a dynamic equilibrium of sorts. Which then is completely mobile(sellable) and immune to who "owns" it - and who owns it ideally should not matter at all since it is owned by the community, right (unless the "who owns it" does not understand that you play this from the inside and not the outside)?
Well, this is my take on it and I could be completely wrong - but that is what I am seeing happening in my space.
Content is indeed the king today, but there is so much of it that the only way to build value around that is with a niche and a community.
Thoughts?

Thank you so much for sharing here. It means a lot - and yes, for joining up Memetales. I am so passionate about getting real stories out there, I truly hope it will do well!
Hi JD,
Thank you!

Hi Vered,
I loved that post of yours. So real, so very real.
I experience that all the time - but I tend to write about the past (you notice that?) I challenged myself to write about the present - talk about and do something today.
I am glad you liked me giving my own example!
Hi Kristin,
I really liked your perspective in your post too. Letting go gives us time and energy to do so many more things - is what I gathered from your perspective. It is very true.
And it has been great chatting with you in twitterland!
Hi Daphne,
Yes, I was shaking and in tears when I watched that video too - it is so extremely powerful, isn't it? There is so much truth in it - and what a wonderful perspective, isn't it? And the way it builds up is crazy - we should indeed all just be happy that we just show up. We are all indeed doing great and o`f we keep doing what` we do, we will be gifted with the genuis - such a powerful story, eh?
Hi Ankur,
Hope for the best, prepare for the worse and keep doing what you need to do. Fear is never a good thing - it comes in the way of logical thought and ability to use our thinking. Keep doing what you are doing and think of the best that can come to get inspired.Just understanding that you are experiencing fear is your first step to dealing with it!
You will do very well!

Hi Chanakya,
Welcome to Thinkmaya and thank you for sharing your thoughts ...your questions are very interesting!
I think it is totally possible to increase ones own IV - I do it by learning from others - emulating the people I admire and constantly striving to be better ....makes sense?
I do think it can also be independent form Core EV. But philosophically I think it should NOT be completely disconnected - only because that might make us all too self-centered and emotionally stoic. That is what I feel - I want to always be moved by the people closest to me :) What do you think?
Hi Lance,
I am glad you liked my drawings :)
Yes, I do think that thiking about something is he first step to making it happen - which is why I like to structure my thoughts this way - it helps me focus on what is important and not get all confused. I really hope this helps you :)
Hi Melanie,

Haha Ankur - LOL
I did read your comment - and this post was made in jest - i hope you saw the fun in here ;)
And btw, if I had the money to hire someone, believe me I would. I cannot justify delegating and hiring people when my startup is not producing any revenue...
I am sure I will have to hire out work (I am doing it right now) but this will be done slowly - over time and in a very controlled manner until we start seeing returns.
So what software tool did you download?

Hi Ribbon,
Welcome to the US :) I am in the US - in WA state. I grew up in India - and studied British English. SO I could have really confused you about my location. But the truth is that I am pretty confused about some of my spellings and pronunciations myself! I did a lot of schooling here in a US (2 Masters Degrees) and have even worked here for a while. I tried to consciously use American English in my business papers ...hence the confusion :)
Great to hear from Australia! Hope you are well and hope you come back here :)
