In my opinion there should always be a certain amount of respect for what is said online. There are surely consequences in the real world for what is said online. It's not worth getting hurt or have your privacy breached - just because something was done carelessly on the internet.

Thank you tremendously Chris. Excellent little tool. I too have never noticed that feature. I use Google Reader throughout the day, every day - and am surprised I never noticed such a dandy link. Just subscribed myself to a few new blogs. :-)

I really enjoyed this guest post. I think you're absolutely correct in trying our best to understand "others" in the realm of internet marketing and creation. We all have different jobs, skills, and qualities - and harnessing these talents for the betterment of a project, is an important accomplishment to chase.

You're 100% correct Chris. It's terrible to me when I see website owners who oftentimes berate or "punish" followers and visitors via spam, hurtful comments, and other various methods. It's important to remember that our followers have chosen to listen, and can just as easily leave. We must treat them with respect - and they'll return the favor.

What an excellent post. You've rejuvenated my spirit and helped to put a grasp around this next year of 2009. It will be turbulent, but as you say, perseverance pays. There's no need to sit around and mope - as your situation will only worsen.

Collect your eggs where they may fall - make an omelet, and RUN with it! :-)

Chris, I thoroughly enjoyed this post. Your analogy regarding blogging and Disney was superb. I have always agreed that it's important to learn from big business - and garner lessons from their success.

Walt Disney created an empire. Isn't that what we're trying to accomplish in each of our niches?

Interesting to see McCain become heavily involved in the social media aspect of internet. The ability to grab an audience/followers is definately increasing with today's many chosen web apps. I wonder how much votes will be affected directly by a superior use of social media. This is fun to watch.

I'm wondering how Jaiku will progress and take hold in the social media community. This should be an interesting development to follow.
