the icon is a four-bar mechanism, fairly familiar for mechanical engineers who take dynamics of machines at the university. it reminds me of good old days back at the university.

i would create an interactive \ documentation for each part i send to the machine shop and let them extract the model from the pdf file.

sorry i didn't get your solution. i want to download the videos overnight because i have a really slow connection.it's a real pain to stay in front of the pc for an hour just to watch a 5 min video. and if i want to watch the video once again, another one hour!

Thanks for this interesting model, mark and josh.
i wonder why boundary conditions are not actually G2 (not Even tangent, according to deviation analysis and zebra stripes), although they are set to be G2 in boundary surface options.

i think the reason it's not tangent is that the direction of curvature of boundary edge changes abruptly. (the trim curve which is the projection of a curvature continues curve (sketch 16) isn't curvature continues)

surfing your site, i found something about vista's built-in 3d viewr, I'm currently using vista with solidworks installed, but i only see an snapshot of solidworks assemblies and parts. could you please explain were to find the viewer?

Vimeo is blocked here too.
i can extract the SWF file from browser cache but the video controller is lost and i cant navigate the video. each time i want to jump to the moment i'm interested, i have to watch the video from beginning.any workaround for this?

Ricky, there is an enhacement on doing motion analysis on layout sketches which i'm interested in , could you please write a review on this enhancement? i guess it needs cosmosmotion.

are the third party translators between CATIA and Solidworks capable of maintaining the part's feature tree? how do they map features which may not be present in one of them?

can you explain what "internal accuracy issues" are? + i have always wanted to know why there are flaws to imported/exported geometries although they are according to a Standard format (iges,step,...) and seemingly both cad systems support that standard?

i noticed a tool called Curvature Explorer in boundary feature, a few days ago. (RMB on the yellow preview surface->Curvature Explorer , a movable dot appears on the surface which shows the curvature of U and V isoparameters at that point.)
