Consider getting a bluetooth keyboard, if the phone supports it. Typing directly on the phone would get old really fast.

last night's move was the most brazenly obvious move I had seen in a long time. Maybe this is a start of a trend, why gun the SPY just in the last 15 minutes of the day when we can gun it over night for a lot less money?

just think like a criminal and you will win. these algorithms need to fake everyone to create the tide on panic buying or selling to get to profit, so they probably just take massive arrays of data figure out what people do most often in these situations and then bait and switch.

crime pays.

Realgara If they do the opposite of what logic suggests... for example a company loses lots of money and warns about profits... time to buy the shares according to computers.

Or a company does really well and increases the earnings, improves the dividend... time to sell sell sell according to computers!

in A Django Developer’s Views on Rails on LoopJ
Interesting post James. I didn't realise that Rails doesn't separate out business logic from the template markup, that definitely helps from a frontend point of veiw
1 reply
tjstankus Actually Rails *does* separate business and template/view logic. James's complaint that "you can chuck as much rails code as you like in amongst your markup" is about what you could do, not about what you should do, or what Rails encourages you to do. I've looked at a lot of Rails code, some of it downright bad, but I've never seen gross and consistent abuse of model/view logic separation. It's just not a problem in the real world.

Mary Rambin It belongs to a friend who let me use the prime real estate a block from town next to the the church to sell my stuff.

We all know I can't afford anything close to 7,500.

I'm sure you can't/shouldn't afford spending the time researching.

in Ballard High principal wins $50,000 for school on My Ballard
My daughter had Phil Brockman for a principal when he was at McClure Middle School and we were so happy. The staff was energized and the school was a great place to be. We were happy/sad when he got the job at West Seattle High. Happy for him and sad for McClure. Then we were elated that when he landed back at Ballard! Both my daughter and now my son have benefited from his excellent leadership. He is an AWESOME principal, wherever he goes good things happen and this award is proof positive! In fact ALL the principals my kids had in Seattle Public schools have been outstanding!

Good Job Phil!

I have also noticed that the 'love' 'funny' and 'friendship' categories are very full...to organize it a bit better maybe break down the 'love' category into 'breakup' and 'love' and break the 'funny' into 'sarcastic' (or something else) and 'funny' and break 'friendship' into 'best friends' and 'ex-friends'
just a suggestion =]
hope you likke =]

in Liquor store burglarized overnight on My Ballard
Here is a very interesting concept that has been around for few years in Chicago. This site uses google map technology to breakout in great detail where crime is occuring in the city. It is a great tool for visitors or newcomers to the city.

http://chicago.everyblock.com/crime/

I don't know if there is such a map going for Seattle yet. I wish there were. It seems that we would all be a little more certain regarding Ballard crime rates.

Knowledge is key!

in Two more business burglaries on My Ballard
Well, whatever. This is about quality of life and making compromises regarding quality of life when people have a vested interest (i.e. Business owners, property owners, parents, etc....you know the conformists). All you people who think its just fine to have 150% increase in the homeless population over a couple of years and open drug use and drunkeness need to get a grip. If you were somehow vested into the communtiy in a real way your tune/perspective might change a bit.

I agree with Nordic Woman.....Ballard needs cops on the beat, a regular enforcement prescence on bicycle that would know the neighborhood, the businesses, the people good or bad. Or how about a Sheriff?
Sheriff of Ballard, has a nice ring!
