There's another convention (CONduit 18), this one covering science fiction, fantasy, and horror, held on Memorial Day Weekend (May 23-25) at the Radisson (same hotel as WHC2008). If you're a writer, it's a great place to be as there are always a variety of workshops, panels and so on which can help you improve.
