in Ni hao, greetings from Beijing! on Zebra
this sounds like an amazing opportunity. Beijing is a really remarkable place, make sure you get a chance to see the sights and sounds of the city. Ho Hai is a fun area to hang out. Also if you have Bank of America, you can use China Construction bank ATM's without getting hit with fees.
Go to a place called Silk Street for really cheap clothes, and stuff.
Say Booyaoo to get rid of the pushy sales people

Amazon released an interesting product today which is basically a eBook product similar to Sony's portable reader. Amazon's product isnt pretty but it makes a lot of sense for them, as they can leverage their virtual book inventory (Amazon has spent considerable time and money to digitize its book especially for previewing) while connecting to already vast customer base. The major differentiator from similar products is Amazon created a distribution system to deliver to book thru cellular or wireless networks so you can always purchase books on demand. Though not optimal for all situations, this would a nice treat on a plane as this light device can replace several heavy book or magazines. Cost about $400

I think eventually, there will be a need for a global cell phone provider who can achieve the same scale as a domestic provider. There will be no "long" distance calls anymore.
