in Comparing The Takings of Pelham 123 on /Film
I thought the third rail scene with Shaw in the original was great. While I love the 74 version I thought Scott did a nice job re-imagining this. Denzel and Travolta were quite good and this is a solid entertainment!

I like Stewart and thought she was real good in the films "In the Land of Women" and "Into the Wild". I hope she keeps her head on straight as She looks unhealthy as of late. That pic is not flattering.

in Arnold Schwarzenegger Offered Role in Predators? on /Film
I would also like to see them bring back Danny Glover. YES Im serious. He was really good in Predator 2. Predator does NOT need a reboot. SEQUAL only! NO reason to ignore the first two films.

I just watched "Passengers" on DVD and while very flawed (Barley released in theaters) Hathaway was terrific in it. The camera loves her.

That moment is classic. Eminem will have to live that moment down for the rest of his life. For a guy who has made a career taking shots at other people how ironic that Cohen targeted him and hit a bullseye. AMAZING!

7.5 out of 10. Vintage raimi- campy fun. Actually I was buckled over laughing. It was very funny. Sounds weird saying that as this is marketed as a horror film but the audience was laughing at everything that gypsy women did. Once she took her teeth out at the desk at the beginning I knew the tone Raimi was playing with.

WIth 95% postive reviews on Rottentomatoes its very surprising that Raimi's film is underperforming, especially compared to most of the horror outings released in the last few years. Maybe people don't like the films title.

The action looks like something you would catch on the Sci fi channel late at night not something you would see in a $100 million dollar summer film. Rachel Nichols( Im a fan) is in this film so Im not rooting against it.

in Carl Erik Rinsch to Direct Alien Remake? on /Film
Alien has been done to death. While Scott's Alien was good James Camerons Aliens was GREAT and one of the best movies ever made. You can never top it so why even try at this point.

Alien is considered a science fiction classic, held in very high regard for many, many reasons. I'm sure many prefer Cameron's action sequel, which is also held in high regard, but it is rarely considered the more meaningful film. I love them both.
----
Aliens was practically a completely different movie in theme and tone, comparing it too the first is sort of pointless.

in 10 Things We Demand From ‘Terminator 5′ on Film School Rejects
To I love film- Believe me if this new Terminator film copied the same premise of the first 3- A Terminator trying to stop SarahConner/ John Conner in the present day it would have perfomed better. Many people don't want to see a bleak end of the world setting. They find it depressing. I knew when I saw the first trailer that it would underperform simply because it was so different in tone that the first three and Arnold wasn't the star. I'm not surprised that it underperformed although its numbers are very respectable. Will it have any legs though?

in 10 Things We Demand From ‘Terminator 5′ on Film School Rejects
After the reaction from the majority of critics and movie sites there is no way another Terminator film would be anything but a time travel storyline with the film set again in the present like the first three. Personally I liked Slavation. NOT great but GOOD. It had many a script problem, but it had more than enough good stuff for me to enjoy it. Too many in todays crowd enjoy building something up and then ripping it down. Not everthing will turn out perfect but that dosen't mean it has NO value. Nothing was or will be what Cameron turned out. I feel people are being a little too hard on this film!

Okay. Let me say that i really liked this movie! I even went to the movies a second time and watched it to see what everybody was bitching about and i still liked it. WTF. Maybe there are just too many Terminator purists out there who want to see the same old thing from the first trilogy. I don't. All I ask is that they
1) DON'T ... DON'T KILL JOHN CONNOR. The first 3 movies are dedicated to his survival and it would be a waste and extremely anticlimactic.
2) For ALL that I hold dear and truly care about DO NOT go back in time to 2011! We were all so excited to see the Resistance the way it was and going back to an insignificant period would be purely trisexual.

in Star Wars Turns 32 Years Old on /Film
Back in the 70's and 80's you had to wait on long lines to see a film like Star Wars, Jaws and The Poseidon Adventure. It was fun to do so. The game has changed and not for the better. Almost all films now are one or two week wonders and they never really really have a chance to become a true legend as there gone to fast from theaters. Titanic's and Dark Knight are few and far between. Just WAY too many screens.
Tim Burtons 1989 Batman changed the way films are marketed as Studios put all there bullets into the opening weekend. The business had never been the same since!

I just don't see how waiting in a line for a movie helps when you are competing with readily available downloads. Honestly, I hate having to sit in a theater with 14 year old kids. They are only watching half of the movie... the other half of the time, they have their cell phone open. Its blinding light blinds my eyes. I get it, I'm old and it sounds like you're even older and I hate to sound like one of my parents but that's the way it is. I just don't get these kids today.

in Terminator Salvation - What Did You Think? on /Film
Despite its many flaws(the script needed at least two more rewrites) I enjoyed it. The action sequences were very well done and Arnolds cameo was great. Worthington stole the film as Bale was OK but not the John Conner I imagined Edward Furlong growing up to be. 7 out of 10. McG did a good job with a very thin script. I got my moneys worth.

in The 10 Best Revenge Movies of All Time on Film School Rejects
I agree with Death Wish. In its time it really hit a nerve. Bronson just had whatever it is that makes one a star and he was in his 50's when he made this film. I also consider Death Wish 3 one of the best B movies ever made. Its so over the top but it sure is entertaining.

in Review: ‘Terminator Salvation’ Lacks Humanity on Film School Rejects
Considering the reviews are coming in mostly negative and the trailers have such a bleak feel this film might turn out to be a huge box-office disappointment. I love the franchise ( like part 3-don't get the hate and like the TV series very much) but these trailers to this film never really impressed me. Fans are so used to seeing the chase storylines of the first three set in our present that this bleak vision ( Feels like a mad max film) isn't a guarantee must see for the masses.

in TV Review: 24 – 6:00-8:00AM (Finale) on Film School Rejects
I LOVED this season. Yes its farfetched BUT as an outright entertainment it WORKED bigtime. The two hr final worked for me and I must admit when Kim Bauer goes after that guy at the airport It made my adreneline flow. I say it was 24's BEST season ever. Just about everyone I know thinks so also.

I thought it was terrific. LOVED this season of 24. When Frekkles ( Renee) goes into the room to torture Will Paton ( bad guy) at the end, I thought it was a little in your face for those who are totally anti- torture but the episode like the season was very entertaining.

What's so wrong with the third film? It has a 77% positive rating on Rottentomatoes. NO, its not as good as one and two, what could be. James Cameron is one of as kind, but its still a solid film in the Terminator canon. At least I think so.
