I think you mean "reckless driving, " not "wreckless driving." Wreckless driving is a good thing!

in Thank You Gmail for Quick Links on ParisLemon
yeah, when Gmail labs opened to internal beta Quick Links was the one that made me drool too. And same request - want the left hand side modules to be draggable.

in A Show You Need To Go To on Baby, You Got a Stew Goin'!
This show sounds good and all but Times New Viking/Titus Andronicus is 10 clams as well and I'm thinking that might be the best $10 (plus $2.50 handling fee) that I spend this month.

in Remind Me Never To Listen To "The Cab" on Baby, You Got a Stew Goin'!
Lay off the Haterade, Steve, that Cab video was pretty tight. Seriously, though, I don't think it was any worse than most "punk rock" songs that are popular these days. I am troubled that we are now living in an era when putting Pete Wentz in your video gives you street cred, however.

The Saints are playing? Cool. Eternally Yours is easily one of the five best punk rock albums of all time. And since it's all of them, that must mean it's the original line-up. I can't wait.

They also ruined Woodstock. Oh wait, that was the brown acid.

"Carlos, I'm Pregnant" might be the worst band name I've ever heard.

in More Political Numbers on Baby, You Got a Stew Goin'!
Yeah. But that might annoy me even more. I went to law school with a Barnard alum. It was amazing how many times she could work, "I went to Barnard, it's an all women's college that's part of the Ivy League" into a conversation (or worse, response to a professor's question). Had she not been one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen, I might have pointed out that Barnard has its own admissions department and is easier to get into than Columbia. I've always thought, "How Many Times Do We Have To Tell You? Barnard Is NOT In The Ivy League" would make a great album title. Especially for one of these new preppy revival bands like Vampire Weekend.

Vampire Weekend was great. I'm being completely serious. Those guys can really play. And, apparently, they went to Columbia.

I'm on track 3 and really digging it thus far. Did they attend Columbia University perchance?

in Ra Ra Riot and The Whigs on WOXY on Baby, You Got a Stew Goin'!
I'm troubled by the lack of Britney Spears coverage on this blog. I realize this has nothing to do with Ra Ra Riot or The Whigs, but I wasn't sure where else to go to air my concern.

in New Vampire Weekend Video! on Baby, You Got a Stew Goin'!
Have you heard the whole album, Sal? It's really pleasant and catchy. And I think I may have read somewhere that they went to Columbia.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I love the album. Did you know they went to Columbia?

in Wussy East Coast Dates Finalized on Baby, You Got a Stew Goin'!
Grape Street is, perhaps, the shittiest venue in Philadelphia. It's local jam band central. I wonder how they ended up getting booked in there.

in Are Smart People Wasting Time on Bad Ideas? | Charles Hudson's Weblog on Charles Hudson's Blog
I have new ideas all the time. 95% of them end up interesting me and IMHO, could create some value for somebody. A much smaller percent (~10%?) are actually worth my own time given opportunity cost. Why do I then sometimes spend time on the projects located in delta between those two benchmarks? I think it's mostly psychic satisfaction - sometimes there are just interesting explorations or goofy things that i want to pursue. I want them to exist so i'm willing to take a lower ROI on my time (or capital) invested. Rational? Perhaps not.
