in Weekend Opens (3/7-3/8) on Manhattan Beach Confidential
Mookie, I agree that disclosure of a seller's financing is a necessary consideration for potential buyers but your judgmental editorial of what they might have done with financed funds is what is unnecessary. I actually like what you have to write, relative to some of the dribble posted in the site, but keeping it real and factual without snide comments would lend more credence to your original point.

ODB, he is an agent, albeit not a good one. He's also a builder and a soothsayer - the very one that predicted that prices wouldn't come down more than 10% EVER in the MB/HB area. He's also the one that staged the five failed auctions. Now you can see why his place is quite rank.

CJ glad you shared this. the woman wants to dominate your friend.
it is obvious that she has lost control and wants him to be "good " father? In her terms or her intrepretation of "Good boy, you do as I say ".
Im divorced w no children, I learned hard way dude.
Im 30 yr old 5'8 280 pound linebacker type Fat guy.
HOW DARE SHE CALL YOU A LOSER.
Shit I'd would do anything to even be like you CJ.
You are the guy out of all PUA's who I relate to the most after reading your archives.
She is more concerned over her OWN interests to control her husband.
I realised the reality of how we men been domesticated by society and women push us to obey these rules. then we ask ourselves why she cheated?
thanks for sharing.

in Could Albariño Substitute Hot Tea during a Traditional Chinese Meal? on Catavino
Many Asians do not know Spain is one of the biggest wine producers let alone it produces excellent wine with excellent price performance ratio. The Chinese prefer to deal with Chinese or at least Chinese speaking people but it is very difficult to find Chinese speaking people in Spain let alone Chinese speaking people in the wine business. On a lighter note, I like to pair chilled Albariño with stir fried prawns, with only garlic or with green asparagus.

in Dessert in Belem, Portugal? Pasteis de Belem of Course! on Catavino
The Chinese decides if it is a good custard by how flaky the shell and how light and smooth the custard is. The custard of the Portuguese version was a bit denser than the Chinese version. Other than that, they are quite similar. I prefer the bite-sized light and fluffy Chinese custards with a good pot of Chinese tea. Oh, did I say tea? I meant a glass of good Spanish wine.... :)

I have always eaten Egg Custard Tarts in Chinese restaurants that serve Dim Sum. They are very similar to these Portuguese egg tarts except they are not caramelized on top. Apparently these Portuguese egg tarts are ancestors of these Chinese egg tarts (see <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egg_tart). ">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egg_tart). When these Portuguese egg tarts were (re-)introduced to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore in the late 1990's, it caused a big craze and people would line up outside of bakeries to buy them. It was like everyone had try them to see if there was a difference between the Chinese version and the Portuguese version. I was one of them. Subsequently the craze died down, and you can find these Portuguese tarts only in a handful of bakeries in the region. Only the Chinese version is still widely available in just about all the bakeries.

Never heard of a matrimonio tapa before. In what region of Spain is it served? Sounds interesting though.
The boquerones in oil and vinegar are so good. Although they don't look very appetizing to my foreign friends at first, after they try them, they want to have them again and again. Unfortunately, it is not commonly available in the bars in the Bilbao region.

in Olbermann: McPocrisy on The REAL McCain
Impaler, I have to agree with you - this GI bill needs to be for those no longer active in Iraq and Afganistan. We do not need a duplicate, but we do need something for those that have served and are no longer miliatary. Especially, for those that have been released from duty due to injury.
The Dems do not have all the answers, but, we also do NOT need another 4 years of Bush Admin with McCain at the lead doing business as usual. For that alone, it's worth voting Democrat. Obama, hopefull, rather than more business as usual Clinton.

Hi Laurel, I haven't been a big "comment" person on your blog, but I have to agree with this post. So much that I wonder if you have read my husband's book, No More Christian Nice Guy?
We so want our boys to be "nice," but how far do we go with it?
I won't go on and on, but thank you for this post.

Also "stuffing feelings" leads to horrible passivity, a very dishonest way to live.
Loved this post!
Love the words of that song too. If I recall, that song was written right after 9-11, but I'd have to double check.
The words go on to say "You give and take away, my heart will chose to say Blessed be His name."
Powerful lyrics.
Sandy
