Thank you! I served in the Navy... not at a crazy time, 95-99, but still, I can relate where people I know have their own views... and it's not our views, it's a job, and the thanks is enough that it wasn't just a job...

I think that people might be having trouble knowing how to open sign... you go to open sign, you register the imei and your email (for them to link the signed version) you then upload the app file that you saved, they convert it, and send you it back converted and signed... really easy... now, i'm just having trouble installing it onto the N96... any idea if it's not for this fp? as the chap with the 85...

I'd have to go with the 78, although I haven't had my hands on it yet, I've had the N82 for a bit, and while I luuuuuvvvvvvveeeee the 5Mp and Flash, I'd have to say that I NEEEEEEDDD 3G! I'm in Westchester NY and I use a decent amount of data. as for the loss of video out, I've been using Ovi and uploading whenever I'm not talking on the phone... ;)

@Zaq the wording was "Nokia N78 has a North American variation that will work on AT&T’s fast 3G data."

Meaning that it will WORK on US3G, (which we will also hope will include T-Mob in the near future) but it was not designed to be SOLD exclusively by AT&T, or nothing has been said for sure.

@Andy, I've been playing with the N82 for about 2 months, I don't notice anything plasticky, I did jump up from an N73 and notice that it feels the same, if not a little different... I wrote about it, if you'd care to read from a new user's POV, but getting back, I can't really see comparing the 95-8 to any of Mark's discussion here...

I hope that what the 78 lacks from the 82, it makes up for in the US Market with the 3G and the FM transmitter, a built in feature that even on the 5th or 6th build of iPods, it still isn't incorporated!

I didn't really get to play with the old FW... but when I updated from 1.2.011 to 20.2.005 was that a normal "jump"? seems ok, the font actually I did notice, but it didn't really bother me, maybe you guys just got used to it?

I'm coming from an 82 there are a few things that I prefer the 82 for, but i'll write more as i compare... this screen is A-Mazing and having more fit, even if it's a bit smaller, it ok by me... it's really sexy though! need to play with it more!

Good rant @karatedog, I don't know what most of those things mean, and I'm not downplaying it, but for the average user, when would I need that?

I too was not a fan of the E71, but it was not for those reason, I just prefer T9... other then that, I thought the device was wonderful, I'm sure with a little setup, features like you said about connecting to your companies wifi might work... maybe something like Boingo or something, I don't know enough of your needs to really speculate... but maybe your friend with the iPhone set those things up previously...

@jeran, the camera isn't going to get much better... I think you might be able to lose that pink hue, but since it's not Carl Zeiss optics, it's not going to come anywhere near what any of the other CZ phones are doing...

I haven't really had this problem, but when setting up my AT&T N75, I noticed that those buttons were BOTH on a delay of sorts... so, I guess it's do-able...

I think I've grown content with the T9, I too use it in class, while driving, and while walking... it's easy, one handed, and I know where I am in the 12 key setup... I think it's easier for people on the go...

If I were stuck in a cubicle, or took public transportation I think I would be able to get more done with qwerty, but... if I tried to do the driving and walking and typing, i wouldn't be alive right now ;)

But, I've never really tried... maybe i can get used to it...

I agree with Mike above.

When I was in the military, or working in any position which required constant attention, I was trained to do something the right way, the way the boss liked, because if he were to have to go back and work on something he can trust that it is done the way he would do it.

You don't teach someone your shortcuts or "tricks" as long as the end product is done so be it.

less micromanagement, and thus more relaxing to deal with.

not to get off topic though, sorry.

as for getting back to the people, I think tagging things in Twitter #insert tag here
is a very helpful way of tracking the conversation.

While I deeply miss what Jaiku could have been for the conversation, i understand what Twitter does for the buzz, and as long as you can follow the tagging, you can pick up where you left off.

This position also leaves your "Batman" character responsible to inform those that he is representing of what the consumers are saying so that they can relay that back and hopefully adjust the marketing/product accordingly.
