When google sees a 301 it knows it should forget the old URL and index the new one. When it sees a 302 it assumes the content will return to the old one and not index the new one as comprehensively.
I'd always go for a 301.

Re: Here comes the sun

It was lovely and sunny! You can get bargain berths for £19 each way if you're lucky (you need to book well in advance, and for off-peak times of the year). It's just I liked some of the other ingredients in that pack. They had 3 varieties from Rude Health in Waitrose when I was there, one was this, the other was organic. i can't remember what the third one was. It is twice the price for half the amount you got of Waitrose own brand but absolutely delicious. And I do add lots of other fruit, mostly blueberries this week, or banana, and hopefully strawberries once the English ones are in season.

I keep reading that yoghurt on meusli is much better for you than milk and cereal but we'll see! I've gone all week without snacking so far, but i guess it'll be several more weeks of this before I actually see any results.

Re: Dragon fruit

You eat the inside stuff, with a spoon. I think what confused me was they weren't like traditional superheroes with either fantastic tools (batman) or superhuman abilities (superman), it just looked like they were really good at martial arts. Things like Silk Spectre being old and retired and her daughter taking over weren't explained as far as I could see. I'm assume that a fake account wouldn't follow other NHS organisations.

I'll try DMing all of these listed and finding a contact. I don't know if you have access to NHS Comms Link which I mentioned to Huw above - it's aimed at NHS Trust comms staff and has a discussion forum. Some trusts have discussed Twitter but I think this is the only extensive list so far. I've mentioned it and if links to any more are posted, I'll put them up here. What I may do is edit the list above to indicate which accounts I've confirmed are run by the Trusts named.

I'm doing this in an entirely personal capacity, but I know at Choices we're trying to get much more involved in social media, maybe I'll raise the possibility of having an area on trust profile pages they can list their facebook and twitter profile... :)

Re: Kiera Knightley’s domestic abuse ad

I'd read about it but didn't think it could be all that good, I never really rated her acting much, but it is very very strong.

Re: NHS organisations on Twitter

Thanks - I saw you follow @nhschoices, i was going to head over to add you this afternoon anyway!

Re: NHS organisations on Twitter

To be added

http://twitter.com/NHSLondonSHA
http://twitter.com/NHS_Enfield

Re: NHS organisations on Twitter

http://twitter.com/NHSNorthants
http://twitter.com/nhslincolnshire

Re: Using NHS for the First Time

On the day you register its unlikely you'll get to see a doctor, more likely it'll be a health care professional, someone who takes your details and does stuff like blood pressure and then possibly will make an appointment if you need one.

Try calling NHS Direct on 0845 46 47 for advice, though they will probably tell you the same as what the doctor did.

Re: Untitled Document

I'm glad it's actually snowing somewhere, i was starting to dobut it! Just give them a false one if not!

On a slightly related note, i was at a workshop for squatters last year and they get around legal problems for electricity etc by simply using a false name when opening an account. So long as the bill is being paid, it's perfectly legal, and they're right, when I moved not one utility company needed proof of my identity. They often do when people have complaints, it's a lot easier to just let you out!
I signed up with Be and have never regretted it. Had occasional downtime of course, but I doubt any other ISP is up 100% of the time. Their router works great with all our Macs and PCs (and phones and consoles etc etc) and their support has always been really quick to respond. They also use different technology to get you faster rates - BT would only ever guarantee me 2mb and I get several times faster than this using Be (nowhere near the top speed of 24mb, but I live quite far from the exchange - ok, I live about half a mile from in in reality, but I guess the cables take the scenic route through London!).

Re: Untitled Document

I can't really get my head around it to be honest - in my job it's not an issue, but if I was an author or similar, would I mind being refered to as a 'gay author'?.... not at all, I suspect! My issue is the menus are now extremley slow and jerky, often unresponsive on screen - you hear the clicks as the cursor moves, but it doesn't physically move on the screen. I've resorted to using my iPhone as a remote which seems like overkill (and can't access everything you can directly with the menus).
I did install Boxee but found it looked awful and wasn't all that useful, though I hear the latest version has iPlayer access which makes me want to reinstall it! Annoyingly, my only large usb stick was in my bag which was stolen at Christmas :(

Re: Kyte.tv goes 16:9 (video showing Opera’s latest now up)

I think you hit upon the problem with HD - it's fantastic that all the big players support it now, but until they have systems in place making it easy to upload large file sizes, it only has limited usefulness to me. I don't want to have to upload videos split into several pieces! I'd rather stick to lower format video if that's the case.

Re: Apple adds HD video donwloads for UK users

It's ridiculous. You can get a box set for half that price in the sales. If they'd price it to match current box set prices, I'd have bought several series on AppleTV rather than from HMV, but as it is, I'll usually watch a few eps on there to see if I like something, then go out and buy the DVD (with the exception being Gossip Girl, which I watched very slowly as I was only buying when I was bored and could find nothing else, and before I knew it I'd got to the end of the series!).

Come on Apple, negotiate some £15 offers for full series (and not 6 ep UK series!), it'll lead to a huge increase in sales on TV shows and probably AppleTV too. I've shown it to loads of friends who'd be interested if only content was cheaper when bought as a whole series.
