Can it detect that it's in my Fiance's purse and if so turn on a siren and a strobe light so I can find the bugger? ... those things are like bottomless pits.

All hybrid/electric cars use the braking method. It's why they paradoxically get much better gas mileage around town or in traffic than they do on the freeway. I don't know for sure but I believe that they are only non-mechanical to a point. Meaning that if you slam on the breaks that the mechanical ones kick in. Also serving as a backup if the non-mechanical ones fail.

I'd rather have one that I could hook up to my WiFi router so that I could boost the signal in a specific direction. As it is this kind of defeats the point of having wireless in the first place unless you use wireless on your desktop.

I'll give you that the ball is much cooler than a wheel, but it's still nothing terribly new. Robots have been rolling around (R2D2) since their inception and this solution still doesn't solve the basic problem with wheeled robots: terrain. Sure it works on a hardwood floor, but add some rocks, stairs, carpet or even a slope and the robot starts too look like a 2-year old.

Or you could just send the text message "Froogle : price mp3 player" to 46645 (GOOGL) and they will do the same thing. I'm sure it works with ISBN's too.

I usually don't have problems finding a tree or bench. Besides, can you imagine what would happen if everyone started using these things at outdoor events? The areas would get torn up.

Interesting idea, but I'm curious about how unique the number is. I'm assuming that the number isn't transmitted from the card to the bank, so how does the bank match up the number on the card with the one you type into a website? It seems to me that it would be some sort of algorithm based upon the credit card number and the date. Once the algorithm is figured out it will be useless because all the cards sent out have already been hard coded. They must have thought up something creative to thwart this but I'm at a loss to see what it is.

I'm very curious about your taste in phones. I am seriously fed up with cingular and my POS Sony Ericsson T637 phone so I'm considering switching to another provider.

Here is my main problem though: Cingular has by far the best GSM coverage in the country and I'm a big fan of Nokia which makes almost exclusivly GSM phones. I can't stand LG, Motorolla or Ericsson phones because i find their attention to detail lacking and their phones to be generally counter intuitive.

Now I know that this is very much a personal thing. Some people absolutely LOVE Motorolla phones, but I refuse to make the same mistake that I made when I decided to give Sony Ericcson a chance. I've had this stupid phone for a year and I won't let myself get locked into another phone that I hate.

So, I would like to know if you have as militant a phone preference as I do and if so which phones you prefer/own.

-thanks

finally. i've been waiting for one of these for the longest time. All the existing bluetooth kits out there are either super lame or crazy expensive. I've been wondering for a while why nobody had created a bluetooth deck yet.

sounds like a cool idea, though they would have to reduce it so that all the information is displayed in the handle, and it would have to be smart enough to know what you are trying to do. Some sort of intuitive user interface for the settings.

Also, I have that same glass pot. Though it's not really glass, and they don't make them anymore because if you heat it up super high in the oven it explodes. It's really a shame though, i love that thing. It's great for cooking rice because you can see when there is no more water without opening it up. you can even get a little crust going on the bottom without burning the rice, which i love.

ATM Bank = Automatic Teller Machine Bank = dumb name

PIN Number = Personal Identification Number Number = redundant

I'm not a grahmmer nazi in general, but the whole "ATM Machine Inside" signs that you see on liquor stores really bugs me.

yeah. we need one that can read RFID tags. Put a scanner by the door and a scanner by the trash can. And cost under $100. Then it would be cool.

how is $200 reasonable? i wouldn't pay more than $80 for it. CD burners are a dime a dozen these days, and a little firmware for making a duplicate of a CD can't be too hard. Now if it did DVDs I would gladly pay $200.

Very cool indeed. I've been waiting for bluetooth to hit the market beyond silly headsets that people feel they have to wear even when they aren't on the phone. You people look rediculous.

I have to say that a nice car integration would be a lot nicer though. Last I checked only a few stereos had bluetooth and they did it poorly. I'm not a big fan of having to buy a new luxury car or a stand alone device either.

I want a nice car stereo that does it well.
