in 9 Reasons Why Blogging Is Just Like Playing World Of Warcraft on The Beta News
Dan: Very true indeed. You can replace the word "blogging" with "cooking" in the post and it will have almost the same meaning.

Adam: Thank you very much for your input. Do you use twitter? You'll notice a lot of people saying: "So tired, but I have to finish this blog post" Take a look at Michael Arrington from TechCrunch. You don't get to look like that from going early to bed ;) (No disrespect to Arrington if you read this)

You've just help me prove my point. You are in constant competition when blogging. Every one wants to be the first one to break the news about the MSFT/Yahoo deal or the new Mac gadget.

I bet a lot of bloggers are getting all kinds of emails from fans who wants this and that. Call it nurf.

I know of several relationships in the blogosphere, that has been destroyed because of blogging.

Gold farmers are all those "blogs" that steal your content in order to earn a few Adsense money.

I've never played WoW to be honest, but the title wouldn't be as catchy if I wrote Everquest 2. Everybody knows WoW ;)

I've never really been into Plaxo. I'm not sure it will do me much good, except be another network to update ;)

in Twitter Alternatives - Plurk Or Pownce on The Beta News
@Harry: I've never really used IM to post on twitter. Do you get your replies in your IM-client too?

@Mrs. Micah: Welcome to TBN. Good to have you here! Twhirl is definitely my favourite desktop app too. Now if only twitter would remain stable it would be even better ;)

@Dan: Plurk's biggest drawback at the moment is the lack of an API. I want plurk in twhirl.
So for now you need another tab in FF :-/

Yeah I tried to email the Hugh Hefner's girlfriends, but they called me creepy ;)

The closest we get to scantily clad ladies is Adam Ostrow's desktop

@Lisa: Bootcamp is one of the reasons, I'm so close to buying a MacBook. I think it's a great feature and very easy to set up.

Thank you very much for your input and welcome to TBN!

@Dan (Minute44): There is an economic side to this as well yes. That's a part of my dilemma ;)

@Dan: Welcome to TBN and thank you for stopping by. I've read a lot of people say that MacOSX is very stable.

Great link by the way.

What hurts even more is, I can go to dell.com and configure a new notebook for the same money, but with a lot better specs.

If I think of the cost vs. benefit - That's where my dilemma is. I've set my mind on the MBP, but I know I can get a lot more for the money if I buy a PC.

I see it as a challenge to learn a new OS and blog about my experiences as a Mac-user from day 1.

It's my pleasure Wendy. Your excellent Monday motivation posts has really helped me out a lot of times, the group writing projects and link love helped me gain more readers here.

in Are Online Ads An Endangered Species? on The Beta News
True. It's a delicate balance. I think Facebook has already stepped over the line once with Beacon. They saved that one on the goal line.

Thank you for your comment Dan.

PS: I haven't forgot the "debt" to you yet. Link is coming up ;)

I think Owlbert is a great nickname/brand. You even use it in your url, so it couldn't be better.

Yes. Worldtv is a great alternative.

You are right. There is so much in Miro. I keep adding more channels, it's tough to keep with with.

Thank you very much for stopping by Andy. I'm glad you liked my post.

You are well on the way too =P

How did the Mac switch go? Is it the best thing you've (almost) ever done? I'm seriously considering buying one and then blog about my experience.

MarketingPilgrim.com is a great site. I've had you in my feed reader for quite some time. You might not be aware of it yet, but I hope to feature you in the next "season" of Show Me Your Desktop, if you would be interested.

Nicholas:

Thank you for the corrections. I've updated the post. ;)

Like you I have mixed feelings when it comes to paying for feeds. Alternatively I could read my feeds on my cell phone or PDA.

It would also be nice if the service was available world wide.

Thank you very much for the correction abhi!

I've updated the post accordingly. I still think it's a shame that you have to pay $2 per feed. I know it's a service offered through Amazon, but for the price of $399 I would expect some level of free service.

That's a great site you have with a lot of useful Kindle information.

How did you find this post so fast?

Your wish is my command ;) Home button is added.

I think the formatting on some of my older posts are screwing up the theme.

Some pictures are too big, so the formatting looks terrible.

I'm still tweaking it, so thank you very much for your feedback!

in Is Windows Seven Scheduled For A H2 2009 Release? on The Beta News
iCalvyn:
Yeah it's pretty fast, but let's wait and see. I doubt it will be ready for sale next year.

I've seen sites that collect signatures and plan on handing them in in order for Microsoft to keep support Windows XP.

So Emma you could be in luck ;)

I'd love to do more interviews, especially since my readers are requesting it.

I still have one left, but I'll see if I can't get some more for the series.

Thank you very much for sticking with me Emma. I really appreciate it.

I'm thrilled to see how much your blog has enveloped the last 6 months!

Thanks for the Entrecard tip by the way ;)

in Jook - Social Music Experience Or Rice Congee? on The Beta News
Oh you already have one Emma. I didn't know you could buy one.

As I mention in the post if this is going to succeed they need at least one manufacturer to buy the idea.

If they could get Nokia or Apple to bundle it with their devices I'm sure it will be a success.
