My landlord got one of these, and I got it at my house, and I was about to waste a stamp mailing it to her.

Re: Gary LaMusga’s struggle

NEWSFLASH FOR DIMWITS:

Every woman who disagrees with you on an issue isn't a man-hater. Are you truly that tender-headed, or is it just something you put out there for comedic effect?

I am passionately for justice -- whether it's a man or a woman being beaten or being cheated out of what's fair. I am very passionately for fathers rights, against no-fault divorce and the de facto kidnappings it permits, and against criminals like Sheila Kuhn.

In fact,I have a contact who books guests at Oprah, which I give to NO ONE, but I called up Matt Welch and offered him the bookers name and number, because he wrote that incredible piece in Reason about men being turned into the "fathers" (read: Human ATMs) for children whose mothers they'd never even slept with; let alone knew -- and I want to see that publicized. That link is on my site, too. You can dig that up, and while you're there, take a look at this:

http://www.advicegoddess.com/goddessblog.html

Pretty surprising from a man-hating bitch like me, huh?

Are the shrill, whiny, lie-disseminating victim-feminists really that attractive that men want to emulate them? Or do you just need something to do while you're not getting laid?

Re: Gary LaMusga’s struggle

Sorry - posted the wrong link above. Here's further evidence of how I feel about men:

http://www.advicegoddess.com/columns/column101....

And, no, I don't blame my error on "the patriarchy."

Re: Gary LaMusga’s struggle

I don't hate it; I'm just not interested in it, so I'd rather read Matt Welch on other topics. He kind of misquoted me and corrected it within the particular blog posting.

mattwelch.com/warblog.html

Re: Gary LaMusga’s struggle

Oh, I'm very fond of all Matt's writing...and after reading the very funny remark you made above, I'm starting to have a thing for yours, too.

Re: Gary LaMusga’s struggle

Don't be going all soft on me now!

Re: Gary LaMusga’s struggle

Where's my weekly shoe allowance?

Re: Nickel and Dimed

I love speech -- especially people speaking out for their political point of view, even if I don't agree with them. This is the foundation of democracy, which I'm lucky to live under.

If I meet people who I think have an irrational outlook I will do what I can to persuade them to a more rational one -- I don't fantasize about giving them a deadly disease. Ehrenreich crows about the possibility of it. I find that horrifying.

On a related note, I just posted about flag burning. I'm somebody who tears up upon coming back into the country through customs. I think I'm incredibly lucky to have been born American -- which isn't to say I don't have criticisms about this country.

While I don't see myself ever burning a flag, I will staunchly defend your right to do it. In fact, I think that the freedom to burn the flag sets this country above all others. In Barbara Ehrenreich's world, however, speech should be free just as long as yours agrees with hers. I believe they call this fascism. Let's hope hers is the minority position for many years to come.

Re: MNDOT Worried Openly About Minneapolis Bridge Collapsing, Thought It Might Have To Be Condemned

If there's anything government should pay for it's the infrastructure. Have kids? Pay for their school yourself. It shouldn't come out of the taxes of the rest of us. We should only pay for the very poor to ensure an educated populace (necessary for maintaining a democracy...not that we exactly have an educated populace now, but at least we mean well). Maybe if people paid for their children's education they'd take a little more care as to whether their children are actually getting one. Oh yeah, and no tax dollars for NPR. But, bridges? Police? Fire? That's where our taxes should be going -- except not for projects like "the bridge to nowhere" -- Alaska senator Ted Stevens' pork.
