in The neat thing about blogging design… on Scobleizer
I agree about the tags / categories thing - it's more like an index than, say, chapter headings or topic areas. Otherwise, very clean.
P.s. I always read from your site (rather than feeds) because I like all the incidental information websites offer.

in Blogs are so over, Wired magazine says on Mathew's comments
Didn't we go through all this about 8 months ago? (I think it was a NYT article then, maybe.)

in Are Facebook Photo Websites Legal? on AllFacebook
Presumably the photos are being used without permission (i.e., in violation of copyright, etc). If that's the case, then the site or page or whatever is... illegal? in violation of Fb TOS? in some kind of legal trouble. No matter how publicly visable, pics can't be re-used without permission. (Yeah, yeah. I know. Nobody's actually going enforce that kind of letter-of-the-law strict attention to copyright.)
Of course, if there is permission, then there's no story.

in Hackers Could Gain Control of Your Computer Through Facebook on AllFacebook
ActiveX! Again?!? Still?!? Geeze. If I started having computer troubles of any kind due to Facebook, I'd drop it in a flash. Well, unless it had to do with that juggling game.

in The Social Network Sky is Falling Run For the Hills! on Social Times
I helped someone sign up for Facebook a couple of weeks back. We went through the registration and privacy process. Sent out some friend invitations. Posted on someone's wall. The next week, we met again. She spent the 5 minutes needed to read a wall response and confirm a friend. Then she said, "What now? I mean, what do people do on here?"
I started to laugh. What do people do on Fb? Hang out, I guess. See who comes and goes. Talk.
"You mean, its like standing around in the mall all day?"
Yeah, I thought, it is. Bor-ring!

in I’m just saying… on Janet Clarey, Brandon Hall Research
Are buzz words short cuts or easy ways out?
When I hear the phrase "I'm just saying" I wonder about the subtext. "I'm not saying Canadians are incompetent or uneducated: I'm just saying I don't think we should hire one because they're... um... not up to it."
The "bloggosphere" (wait! is that a banned word? I can't keep up) awash with people's writings, and I love drifting about in it. But whether I return to a blog has everything to do with how many buzzwords I see on that first visit. The more concrete (and old fashioned) language I read, the more likely I am to return.
