in Old School Friday...Keep it in the Family on Sojourner's Place
I love the Brothers Johnson, especially "I'll Be Good Too You". I remember when Quincy Jones first introduced them on his an old late 70's album. Good pick!

I remember the Jets, I wonder where they are now. I use to love their energy and the lead singer was good. Come on over there is a party going on at my spot in 1972.

in Ain’t Really Love on Conversations With Marva
I have never been beat down either and I am considerably older than you. Truth be told I have never cursed a man out (at least not one I was intimately involved with). I actually thought that was fighting women was some old school mess from Billie Holiday songs "My Man". I am with you all the way and agree with you wholeheartedly...It ain't love!
On another note: That Diana Ross film "Out of Darkness" is airing Wednesday morning at midnight in my area. Check you guide and program your Tivo if you want to see it.

Etta and B. B., two of the greatest of all times! I had a video cassette called B. B. and Friends, in which these two performed together. Classic stuff! Happy OSF.

in Baby Girl on Conversations With Marva
This was so tragic. Word has it that at the time of her passing there was talk of a remaking her in the lead role. I often say that had she lived she would have definitely given Beyonce a run for her money. Anything Beyonce can do Aaliyah can do better! At least in my humble opinion. Anyhow Happy Birthday Aaliyah!!!

Two absolute gems. I still here "Brick House" and smile! What a dance record! What words can I use to describe the soulful stylings of Eddie Levert? Excellent choices. Happy OSF:-)

I love Moody's Blues! Although I am not a fan of Brian McKnight, he sounds real mellow here. Of course Ray Charles was great. Great choices. Happy OSF!
