Also I wanted to say that I like blog reivews. Perhaps it's much more valuable as feedback to author of blog reviewed, but still interesting.

It seems that most people doing reviews get tired or bored qickly and drop it. :(

Nice, very light and clean design. :) I like how it creates feeling of blocks without much actual borders in content area.

I get something like question marks instead of quotation marks and apostrophes. Font issue?

Participate in group writing projects. It gives a lot of opportunities to link, to get links, to network with others and traffic spike on top.

Free traffic seems charming to bloggers but those are always empty promises. :) It takes time to learn this lesson and it's a pity plenty of people drop out before they do.

And from my group writing experience people are lazy at it takes a lot [of cash] to make them move, sometimes you just pick up prizes alone. :)

I disagree about blogrolls. I like some blogs, I think they are related to mine and interesting to my readership. Had some method other than blogroll been invented to show that? I don't think so.

Relevant blogroll link is also most quality traffic you can give or get.

My main problem with FeedSmith is that it redirects ALL feeds. WordPress generates plenty of dynamic feeds - for example feed for posts with specific tag or posts by specific author. FeedSmith just redirects all of those to single main feed which is far from flexible.

Hm, as far as I understand sitemap is generated only when content changes with Arne's plugin. How is runiing it for two seconds (for my blog) per post is high resource usage?

I understand that it may add up if there are hundreds sites on same server (as in cheap hositng). But on cheap hosting anything can be called high-resource usage - I had once lost wiki that wasn't even using database and had total of three daily visitors. I may be wrong but tons of plugins that people use at the same time and at each page load are probably creating incomparably more load than sitemap generator.

btw read recently that Google accepts RSS feeds for sitemap, may be esay alternative. Hadn't tried myself yet.

Yep, amount information that fits in 140 symbols is short. But so is information density. twitter is hardly used for sharing deep complex insights. Don't need book to share what you are doing or thinkig this evening.

Hmmm... Assuming it would probably have to fit project name, link for current blog and some graphics - actual message should be like very short. My suggestion is:

"We are reading this"

Promotes sense of community, easy to grasp, turns subconscious "author approves" message into visible one.

I am using it with Total Commander. It's rather good for simple formats like plain text or images, but not for more complex ones.

Trying to view Word document, for example, actually launches copy of Word in the background. Opening PDF launches background Foxit Reader on my system and so on.

Kinda defeats purpose of light fast viewer. :)

I have pretty much zero discipline at work. IT, overstaffed, half-hour away from main office and half-city away from rest of our buildings. :)

Tasks mostly wander freely to those who has sufficient skills and biggest planning are deadlines on submitting paperwork.

It has lots of pro and con but I can say for sure that it's pretty relaxing environment to work in and work is actually getting done in our case.

As far as I understand lots of sites target ads not on regular readers but on those that come from search. Searchers couldn't care less about becoming readers they want quick answer and to jump further.
That's why some type of sites require hundreds of thousands visitors to become profitable and some bring money with relatively small traffic.
I think every good site can be profitable but not every profitable site can be good.
