in It is all about the journey, not the destination. on Lori's Reflections
"If I was not learning that would mean God would be completed with me and I would be dead. "
Now there's a classic truth that will stand the test of time.
I'm glad that you've had much time to think and to learn from God's wisdom. It's amazing how much I can take in when I'm at a place wher ethe noise and distractions are kept to a minimum...
Love the end questions/notices, Laurel. It's all about perspective.

Holy cow, Beth! That's an eye-opener, for sure!
I don't mind at all that we waited til I was 25 to have kids. I'll be in my early 40's when The Girl graduates from HS and mid 40's for The Boy. Still, I seem to be pretty young when I look at all my friends who waited until they were in their late 20's just to get married.
Lord willing, you've got lots of life left in you for your grandparenting joys! And you'll be one youthful Grandma when your time comes!

in Nope, not having any fun at all.... on Lori's Reflections
I usually want to cry at the end of a vacation too, but that's because I know that I'll have a lot of laundry to do. Have a great rest of your trip!

I think we've all been there. I hate it when I find myself acting so sure of what I need, only to find that God had other plans that were so much better.
Though you may not see the reason for no right now, rest assure that God has the best of everything for you in the palm of his hands.
(Enjoy that time at the pool! If I were close to you, I'd have been right there with you...)

I can't leave a response to her while I'm at work, but I'm praying for her and the entire family. May she know God's comfort and peace even when it doesn't feel like they're there.

in This may be more for me to say... on Lori's Reflections
I think it's the long time bloggers who are trying to find their balance with life and blogging. When we first started, it was all fun and new, making new friends and keeping an onling journal of sorts for posterity, memories, validation... different reasons for different bloggers. Now, we're finding that blogging can take up too much of our lives if we let it. So go, have fun and enjoy life as you're supposed to enjoy it - by living it. Just make sure that we get to hear about it occasionally because you know that we love you girl!

Friends can make or break us sometimes... it's wonderful to know that they've got our backs and they're dragging us to the foot of the throne.
So... did you have a 4 or was that enough for today?

Oh your list covers most of my basics... I'd just change out Grace for #5 and Mr. Right and the kids for #6 and I'd be good to go. (Hey, when you don't have any, the support is quite superfluous to say the least.)

in Pruning Season on Lori's Reflections
Ahhh, but how much healthier, prettier and viable the plant is when pruned early. If the Pruner waits too late in the season, it could kill the plant.
It hurts, that's for sure, Laurel. But you will bloom like you've never bloomed before!

And yeah, I'm glad that I live in the here and now, although the no AC thing wouldn't bother me. The lack of indoor plumbing, however, would! Just think of what others who are living in 2108 will say about living in this time...

Cup of coffee a day. You go girl. I guess, I've been doing the same thing... I just hadn't realized it! No wonder I'm so tired...
You do look wicked young! It's a blessing, not a curse.
I was just talking to my mom about the fact that we won't be running away to anywhere. With the gas prices the way that they are and the car replacement, I think we'll be enjoying quiet a few nights on our back porch, thank you very much.

in St. Augustine, oreos, and night swimming...what good weekends are made of. on Lori's Reflections
You all were blessed indeed! (I would have cried over the waste of Oreos, but it might have something to do with hormones as well.)
I've never been to St. Augustine. It does sound absolutely divine!
And yes, I had an exceptionally great day... Mr. Right and I finally had a date night that in no way involved leaving the bed. *ahem* I'm a new woman now... :)
Blessings on your upcoming week. I think God knew that you would need that rest before the excitement starts!
