That's the stupidest thing Ive ever heard, and it's a logical fallacy as the point here is that burning kittens alive is cruel and immoral, regardless of whatever Columbus may or may not ever have done.

What is this?

"Fun" trolley cars along a single street will not help at all. What we need are quick and efficient street cars to supplement major bus routes. For example, a street car along Grand Ave would be a great feeder to the metrolink and provide residents from both north and south to travel a lot easier. A single street car could fit at least three busloads of people at a time and running every 30 minutes (Like the currently cut buses) would be great.

You cannot get much more fuel efficient buses than what exists already without major spending. Many of the existing buses already do run on alternative fuels, though not many, and their cost is most likely higher than traditional diesel fueled vehicles. With the recent cutbacks, many of the under used lines have been eliminated, and existing lines have longer wait times. While I'd love to see an investment in renewable energy buses, it would cost about the same to expand the metrolink light rail system instead.

The transit system itself is very safe. What happens outside of the stations or around workplaces is a different story. Your place of work should be able to provide security for it's employees, and if the neighborhood is so rough that they can't possibly do that, something seriously needs to be done about crime in that area, though it's not metro's fault. That local community needs to step up, their police force needs to step up, and only then can things change for the better.

On a typical work day between 7 and 9 am, the metrolink is jam packed going eastward in to downtown. Sure it's rather empty in the middle of the day or really late at night when there's no games playing, but then so are the roads. Cardinal games though are a real pain for most regular metro riders though. The trains are so packed with fans in red that it's just crazy.

Only the county voted against the tax increase. But then the county doesn't pay taxes on the metro, on the free zoo, or just about any of the free things within the city (All of which are accessible via the metrolink). Certain counties also voted against expanding it to their location before the highway 40 construction, but as soon as the highway was closed, they complained about not having metro service! Public transportation is very cost effective.

What exactly is this bridge for? A highway over 10 blocks? What's the point? Where is the old bridge that's being replaced? Sure it might help free up the downtown grid during a busy night, but what's the point if it's $35 million? It sounds like some serious misappropriation.

We can put heavy rail in the former highway alignments, surely?

Thanks for this "insider view". Sounds very plausible given what we know of Huntsman (and I have known a few deeply heterodox Mormons who stayed in the church without personal incident, so I can imagine). I guess Huntsman will be all right.

all i did was activate the plugin and widget (for specific youtube user feed). was working for a few weeks then suddenly the errors yesterday (maybe day before).
