Agreed Mathew and thanks for rightly catching me mostly going against the grain on this one. If Wikia Search is going to be a success it's going to be the social/communal aspects of it and I don't see how you can deem a site a failure from day one when basically neither of those are in place - at all.

I had been worried about those social aspects after seeing the initial photos where were just a Facebook total rip-off died green, but after seeing they replaced that with a relatively simple and clean-looking social layer I'm a lot more optimistic. As you said, we'll see in 6 months.

Completely agree with the thought that cynics will remains cynics while fanboys will remain fanboys. Some attempts at straight-talk, some attempts skirting around issues. Status quo will remain status quo, but at least they are putting forth some effort now.

When I saw it in theaters I thought it was just much too smug, but I watched it again the other night (weird that you wrote on it), and I actually like it. It's not great, but I really like the European angle and think Pitt is particularly good in it.

I must admit that I cheated a bit and watched it a couple weeks ago (I refuse to support SciFi now after the whole possibly playing the 2nd half of the final season in 2009) - overall it's solid and there are some very interesting things happening towards the end. Looking forward to your thoughts.

Now the only question is when will Season 4 actually start?!

I agree on pretty much all points. That is a a very interesting idea about the little girl being Starbuck - obviously something about that ending will play into this season. You say Lee, but why not Bill being made into one after sticking his hand in there?

Glad someone reads my articles other than just my tech ones! I was particuarly fond of that article as well - though I should note, I recently rented Die Hard 4 (I refuse to call it that other name) and did actually like it (though I did watch the 'unrated' cut).

It's great that Disney and Fox are on board, but I'm not liking the new rumors of varying prices between $2 - $5 for only a 24-hour period. I hope the older $2.99 for 30 days turns out to be true instead - think about taking rentals on a trip on the iPod or iPhone... 24-hour would be kind of lame.

Quite right I think with the point about the digital movie push - it would be in Apple's best interest to get people off of their DVD fix and on to digital. As for installing software, how often do you have to do that while on the go? If you're on the road you could just bring your portable optical drive with you or download the software as many programs now allow you to do.

I say no way that picture is for real, what on earth would you need a mouse button the size of a ruler for? :)

You and I both are hoping for this. Like Dave in the comment above I'm debating getting a PS3 because of the Warner/Blu-ray announcement, but would MUCH rather get an Apple TV with a Blu-ray built-in.

Excellent, 128 gigabytes! I think that is still pretty up in the air - how much storage Apple will want, I would guess 64 GB, but 128 GB at half the power consumption could be very enticing if it's not too expensive (which it may be)...

Not sure I would see the point of that 'Mac Nano' with a solid-state drive, I don't think size has even been an issue with the Mac Mini/Apple TV - but price has been, and a solid state drive would make that thing very expensive.

Yeah that'll be my plan as well it looks like, but with that being the case I don't see at all the point of getting a 160 gig Apple TV over a 40 gig one. I guess if you're having bad streaming performance?...

Good to know, so you are able to JUST store movies on your apple tv without them existing on your computer? I think that is the only way I would get the 160 gig one and put all my ripped movies on there.

I'm definitely leaning towards getting one very soon as well. Did you get the 40 or 160 gig one? Can you just store movies on the Apple TV and not your computer or do they have to sync up - if so what's the point of the larger hard drive unless you plan on renting a lot of movies at once?

While we mostly agree on all movies, I did like MirrorMask - the visuals never really wore off on me and I just thought it was pretty different and eerily haunting - yes kind of like Labyrinth, which I need to re-watch too by the way.

I love that you're writing up all the apple movies of the week now - maybe you should make that a feature :) I haven't had a chance to watch the hours yet let alone the ghost and the darkness - must get apple TV, too much hassle to watch on my computer when i'm already sitting at it all day.
