The 3 firms in 8 years is a great example of it... every time that happened, YOU had to re-print all your marketing materials. Sure it gave you the chance to touch your clients again but not for the right reason! It shows a lack of stability.
As the big Re/Max franchises here are being sold off and brands are dying by the day, I'm also seeing the tiny sole proprietor locations with FOR RENT signs out.

There is power in unity ... and that means a small boutique that can harness the power of the internet and blogging...drive in leads and provide proper service will attract the buyers. They can also attract top producers who would be upset like you at the big brands. They can also forgo the green agents for an experienced staff and team...let the trainers train them and they'll learn to come over to the boutique in time.

Same thing goes on the mortgage side... the big firms lose the ability to produce a quality customer focused model by spending too much time on growing and too little time on closing.

Re: What’s My Mortgage Rate And How Much Is It Going To Cost Me?

The more I resist transparency, the more I see its merit.

Right now my sentiment is that the consumer has been wronged for years by the mix of wholesale brokers and retail banker/lenders. Wronged because the bankers and lenders spend more time badmouthing brokers and their rates than training on their own programs. Step back in time 2 years and see how many WAMU retail loan officers could tell you the good AND the bad in an Option ARM

Back to the present... Wholesale needs to get back on course and retrain the customer. We can pick up the pieces and rebuild the lending process ourselves with honest rates, fees and upfront acknowledgment of what the consumer wants to know... What's it going to cost me?

I'm wearing pants....but they're still in beta

Re: DOJ vs NAR Lawsuit Turned Into an Exercise in Irrelevancy

It was silly to worry about tying up the MLS for whatever amount of reasons when there are still laws to keep people from brokering real estate without a real estate license.

too bad the mortgage industry doesn't follow suit - any "correspondent" can provide the content but only a licensee can originate the loan

Re: 8 Video Games That Changed My Life - plus, Free NES Giveaway

You forgot basic Tetris

Centipede
Asteroids
Tempest

and BattleZone - first person shooter!! 20 years before Doom!

Re: Listropolis Does Disqus AND Seesmic

this stuff has to be better than the cformsII that is giving me fits w/MySQL

Vicki... it is free for a reason! I think it is important because it is building a new SOI.

SOI will be important for all these industries as we struggle with the economy and regain the controls on what has fallen to pieces in the past years.
