in Dancing With The Gevil – Defamed By Google? on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
Google had to do something about the paid links and they had to do it fast. Unfortunately for everyone, you can do things fast or you can do things right.

Will we have pagerank now or trustrank?

Paying someone to write about your site shouldn't ever be penalized. Journalists go on junkets all the time.

in Wordpress 2.3 Installed on Investing Adventures
I've yet to install 2.3 on my site. I like to wait a while until the bug reports come in and the dust settles. I have enough problems with my plugins without adding more with a new install on top of it all.

That did open my eyes. I took my widget off a few weeks ago, but I'm thinking about putting it back on.

I've recently just gotten a blog to the 400,000 range and I'm pretty excited about it. I wonder if the widget being on there for a short length of time did anything to help the ranking....

in Sharing Traffic For Free Traffic on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
I do believe in the notion that you should share traffic. I can imagine that karmically, this might work out in the end to get your site more traffic. Sometimes I link to blogs that don't get much in the way of linkage and throw out some odd anchor text.

I accused MyNewHustle of touching DormEarning in one of my posts, and it just made me laugh and laugh. They're both favorite blogs of mine and they need some support.

I hope it got both of them some traffic.

in Does My Startup Idea Suck? on Instigator Blog
It's all about plowing the field.

You can't go out and plow an eighth of the field one day, a quarter of the field the next day, and then take a break for a week before you come back and finish the job half-assed.

If you're going to reap the rewards, you have to plow the field. It doesn't matter if you're happy about plowing, it just has to be done. Of course if you can listen to music while you're plowing, it makes it go a lot faster.

Yeah, but can you remember PYSIH.com? Or do you just remember People You'll See In Hell.com and remember it has to be abbreviated?

I had cake for breakfast.

in [help] I Need a Pretty Not-Too-Stuffy WordPress Theme on Free Traffic Tips
I'd love to get a custom theme done. Problem is, I've got so little cash. :(

Three column is definitely what I'd need, and with a darker color scheme. I don't use widgets much, but support would be nice to have. I like that the theme I'm using now has the two thin sidebars on the right, but I don't like how they're coded.

I've also got a bug on my theme, where the footer rides up on the single post pages. Can't figure it out.

Anyways, after that brief but mooooooving bout with self-pity, thanks for the recognition, John Cow!

My sons like your products. Especially cheese.

Steven Especially cheese? Come on, ice cream is often made from milk and thats gotta be way better although I am a cheese lover too haha. I have a hard time imagining any kids would especially love cheese over ice cream =]

I think I've made an average of $.27 so far this month.

Someone shoot me.

Angel I actually found your site a decent read.
Sabrina's Money Matters You've got me beat! But it's not about the money for me. It's about teaching about the money....

You're site is kind of morbid by the way, definitely something to only look at while drinking...very depressing. I guess it's not any more depressing than the news.

How is it that you're faced with these people everyday by the way?

in 10,000 Millionaire Losers I Feel Sorry For on Jim Kukral
It's almost like they're exactly like the drug dealers I work with every day.

I had a guy the other day who was showing me all these pictures of himself that his family had sent to him. He was bragging, "Oh, I gots me a Tahoe, all this jewelry, look at me showering in money."

And I look at this guy and say, "If you've got all this money, why are you in jail? Why didn't you get out and invest in some kind of honest business, maybe help your neighborhood out a little?"

As expected, there was no real answer.

Seriously, folks, make your money and get out. Go live somewhere less expensive and enjoy life, instead of frittering it away for someone making a hundred times what you are.

in Realtor.com: Listings Are Updated Every 15 Minutes on Go Beyond MLS
I am kind of surprised to hear that these websites weren't updating more often than once a day.

We really burned through a lot of homes on the MLS in Omaha, and finally figured out what we wanted after looking at 20+ homes. We looked at over 150 homes on the web though, and if some of them were waiting on the once-a-day update, I can see that we could have passed over them if they had dropped in price.

I've looked into a few services like this, but I'm not entirely sure I'd need it for a while.

My topics tend to share common data with widely-read news stories, so I'm bound to get flagged by these types of services.

in Nofollow. DoFollow. Shallow. on Vlad Zabblotskyy - A politically Incorrect Blogger
I have dofollow up on my comments, but most of the people commenting on my stories don't have websites of their own.

I can imagine that many blog authors are getting tired of one and two line comments dominating their pages, and the people posting those comments being at the top of the "top commentator" list.

I've found that it does pay to check comments often and maybe "redirect" the conversation accordingly.

in Text Link Ads Says We’re Naughty on John Cow dot COM
This Jonathan Dingman - Product Manager - sounds like a complete and total tool. He rushed to judgment, made a bad decision, and is sticking with it instead of announcing a mea culpa and helping you out.

Challenge him to a boxing match. Fight fight fight!

This looks like something that you could easily mooooove up the TLA food chain with and get overturned.

John Chow has no problem with the site, but even if he developed a brain tumor tomorrow and decided JohnCow had to go, there'd be nothing he could do about it unless you had some material lifted from his site.

I'm not sure if you'd want to have AuctionAds ads on a site that wasn't covering something you could buy on e-Bay. I'm still figuring it all out.

I'm fairly positive that I'm going to lose that contest, considering the past performance of my luck.

I've yet to win the lottery.

Or a raffle.

Or a slot machine.

Or leave a casino with positive numbers.

But I entered anyways. Bob's a good guy.
