in Tool Time Friday | Are you ready to Sprout? on Free Traffic Tips
Sweet! Someone sent a link to me for Sprout this morning but I hadn't had my coffee yet and didn't really read it. I'm glad I came across this post tonight because I now realize how powerful this could be and am going over to check it out.

Cheers,

Everett

in Fridays Are For Feed Subscribers on How To Split An Atom
Steve,

I know you're not a proponent of nofollow tags, but I often advise people to use them on the Feedburner feeds since they are basically a duplication of the feed I get when clicking on the feed icon in the URL bar (firefox) but on someone else's domain. Feeburner is great, and people should use it for many reasons, but adding a nofollow tag to that subscribe link might help out a bit.

Sorry to intrude, but I noticed you had a post up about feeds and thought I'd put in my two cents.

sbspalding Good thought.

As a general not, I am not opposed to the nofollow tag. I just have a small problem with Google legislating what I must do with my links in order to remain in their good graces.

Though, that tip is not a bad one. If only because it keeps you from being indexed for what basically amounts to duplicate content.

in This Is Why I No Longer Watch the FOX on Vlad Zabblotskyy - A politically Incorrect Blogger
Why you "no longer" watch FOX? I stopped watching fox about five years ago. It's been a complete farce for a long time now. But I don't like Kieth Olberman any better. These "news" programs are splitting my country apart and turning into an us-verse-them battle. It's not about Republicans or Democrats. It's about people with all shades of gray to their beliefs.

in Movie Notes: Diamond Head on Webomatica
I lived on Oahu for about three years before settling down in Chile. I can see how it was once a great place, and it is still 'special' in many ways to this day. But between the concrete jungles, congested highways, bloated real estate prices, methamphetimine abuse, and annoying tourists - I don't think I could ever live there again.

South America is like Hawaii but instead of paying 2-million for a three-bedroom bungalo near Pearl City, you can get a giant beach mansion for under $500 k.

With that said, there will always be things about Hawaii that I miss (the uniquely 'Hawaiian' culture and pigeon dialect, my friends, when the Pali highway opens up to the valley and sea...) so it will always have a special place in my heart.

Long story short, I'm going to go rent this movie. Maybe it will bring back some memories.

I LOVED it! Me and the wife went last night (no, we don't have kids) and for once I didn't feel that the animators were insulting our intelligence. It was a truly great piece of entertainment.

I was a little disappointed with the female Chef though. Her accent was supposed to be French, but sounded like a 1/3 Latino, 1/3 African America, and 1/3 rich white chick. Why couldn't they just hire a 'real' French person to do the voice instead of Janeane Garofalo ?

in Fighting My Worst Addiction: Smoking on Sage Blogger
I tried quiting for ten years before finally succeeding after reading a book called "How to Quit Smoking The Easy Way". I know it sounds cheesy, but it helped me reprogram the way I think about smoking. God forbid you ever start again, but if you do you should check out that book.

in Wikipedia NoFollow Plugin? WikiDigg? on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
G'day Andy,

I replied to your comment on my blog post. I have indeed seen yahoo display nofollow links using their site explorer, but I am not entriely convinced that these links count toward link popularity. I would like to get your input on this if you know of any test that were done.

By the way, Yahoo claims to support the tag, but I'm sure you've already seen this:
