Well, I`m trying to look for all the sights in my life... and life took my hand and lead me to my spinningwheel and to work creativ with wool and to give old traditions to other interested people to make their life richer. That makes my so satisfied and happy.

Thank you for your poetic column on your experience with that movie. I just saw it yesterday with my husband and I actually cried at the end! I felt pretty silly, but of course the story isn't simply about robots going about their directives - it's a love story. And the search for love and completeness is never-ending, universal and timeless. I also appreciate the parallels you draw with scripture - I hadn't considered them, and your words enrich my experience with the movie all the more. Guess I'll have to buy it in the fall!

in A Thin Line Between Cultural Norms and Complete Incompetence on Catavino
Wow, glad I stumbled across this post, feels good to know that everyone living in Europe goes through this crap. Like other commenter's posts, it's just as bad in Portugal, I can't even tell you what kind of craziness I've gone through but I'd say one of the worst was not having gas or hot water in my new apartment for the first month because nobody knew what the correct and up-to date regulations were.......then when I finally got it, 2 weeks later it dies right in the middle of my shower on a holiday here so of course no one was available to fix it. I call the very next morning but because it was a Friday, nobody could come until Monday. Luckily I didn't pay anything because I had a warranty on my gas heater but after all of that I've come to learn that anything ridiculous is possible with European bureaucracy...........just got to be patient......

in Perfect Summer Combination: Manzanilla and Gazpacho! on Catavino
Hey Gabriella,

When I saw goat cheese gazpacho with Manzanilla sherry, I had a feeling they would just all overpower or conflict with each other because of all the strong flavors and acidity so it's no surprise you ended with that result, regardless of the fact you didn't puree the bread enough. My first thought for a Manzanilla alternative is a white Port actually. When I toured some of the Port houses in Gaia last summer, I came across a basic white Port from Vasconcelos Oporto & C. that my friends and I fell in love with; it's not as dry and strong in flavor as the Manzanilla but very light and smooth with hints of tropical fruit and honeysuckle. Maybe a Portuguese version of gazpacho (gaspacho) with some soft, fresh goat or sheep's milk cheese from here would be good the second time around!

in 3 Portuguese Whites + 4 Friends + Mushroom Risotto and Drunken Pears = Pure Happiness on Catavino
The mushroom risotto recipe sounds sounds really good, I make a mean risotto myself so I might have to try that sometime. I have heard of Quinta do Pacos wine before but have not had the chance to try it yet, maybe I'll include that vineyard on my next trip up north :)

in Boquerones: Sometimes Fresh but Always Delicious, White Anchovies on Catavino
I loveeee Boquerones, I actually ate them all the time at this tapas restaurant when I lived in South Beach! But I did get to have them once or twice while I was in Barcelona :) I would always drink them with a nice cold Serra Estrella there but the Albarino sounds nice, I like the Portuguese version a lot over here :)

in Seven Spanish Songs for 7 Spanish Wine Styles on Catavino
The 1st and 6th songs sound like great pairings, as those are 2 of my favorite artists and 2 of my favorite wines to casually drink, so I'll have to put them together! As for the others, I have not heard of the songs/artists by name but I've probably listened to them before and the wines I definitely know and love so I'll have to explore those combos as well. Great ideas to ponder on a Sunday afternoon, thanks! :)

Dr. Reynolds is a good woman. I will stand up for her name. I did her radio show and for what I know of her, she would take a hit to protect you, me, and all of us. She is not giving Barack a pass. And because she is a Clinton supporter, you automatically think she would hurt another Black Person.

Well, when I was hurt and down --- people had beaten me up badly --- well, she and her business partner stood up for. That was years ago and it was unpopular. People don't like "Thinking Unconventional Black Women".

So stop doing this, Rikyrah. Stop thinking everyone that is challenging Barack is out to help Hilary. I know that Dr. Reynolds did that as her duty of service to her ministry and social justice first in not allowing Barack to keep NOT DEFENDING his people, his faith, his pastor, and heritage he adopted.

Dr. Barbara Reynolds woulf fight for you Rikyrah if she had to. She is that type of woman that fights for us even if she has to fight us along the way. Their is inconvenient coincidence she supports Hilary. That is something she is not going to apologize for or retract.

I think it takes a nuanced mind to understand everything is not about doing Obama in. Even my campaign against Obama is not about doing him in. I am doing what I do to destroy him. We all do it out of love for our people. Frederick Douglass said to, "Agitate, agitate, agitate" and if you recognized, Frederick Douglass IV was in that audience too.

Our people don't like the narrative and want to find ways to dispel what is staring at all of us in the face.

Dr. Barbara Reynolds might be old-timey with technology and new ideas but she is fighter for her people. I feel proud to defend her.

in Obama Tops Final Democratic Power Rankings, Edwards and Clinton Tie for Second on The Iowa Independent
Change is a Coming... Barack Obama is the real deal. He has already made changes -- he helped over 150,000 people get healthcare in Illinois. He has passwed laws against lobbyists in the Senate. He has passed a bill to help secure our nuclear weapons. He has done a lot more. And he wants to do even more for the people.

Barack is the one leading candidate that has PROVEN that he can work with people to get important legislation passed.

Barack cares about the people and it's time he becomes president.

Let's vote in Barack -- we need real and positive change for our country.

in Can anyone cover The Beatles? on Sean Ward
i havent heard a beatles cover that ive TRULY enjoyed...maybe its because i kno its not the beatles and it seems blasphemous, but the beatles puts you in a mood...the way they sing, how the instruments sound, and the fact that you know they were probably trippin balls when they wrote the music, or were being shady in some other way
