in Palm Pre Canada on UberPhones
It's the iPhone days all over again. When will the Pre hit Canadian wireless carriers? In a country where it is the closest and most bound to the United States, the States always gets it first and Canada seems to be the LAST country to get any new phone (besides BlackBerry) after all other countries and continents gets it.
In a way I love being Canadian and living in Canada, but in another way I prefer the perks those lucky Americans get....at least when it comes to new smartphone releases :)

in Palm Pre vs iPhone 3G? Don't think so. Plus G1/Dream, Sidekick LX 2009, & Nokia N97. on imPHOreal!
You might have a point in that the Pre and the iPhone are different and not so much of a comparison, but the Pre is still a worthy competitor. And by saying that, I mean in terms of what both of them share in comparison. Both have fairly large multi-touch screens, GPS, WiFi, fast processor, great graphics chip, an application store/cataloge, camera, beautiful hardware and software (OS) and a lot more. And we can also mention that the Pre (on top of what the iPhone can offer) also has a full physical slideout QWERTY keyboard, multitasking, synergy, better camera with flash, a significantly less strict API for developers, etc.
So in a way or another, both phones can certainly be compared and will definitely compete against each other. But in the end it might all go down to proper and smart advertising (something that Apple never seemed to fail at).

in Vista: Run System File Checker | Microsoft Vista | Tech-Recipes on Tech-Recipes
I remember XP used to perform a system file check during a reboot as well (to schedule a file scan before Windows boots up). Is there a way to do that with Vista?

in How To: Update Nokia N95 8GB Product Codes For Changing Language Packs on The Nokia Blog
I am pretty sure if you have a Rogers Nokia N95 8GB it should display the Arabic text fine. If you're talking enabling writing in Arabic then I think you might be heading for a brick wall. I suggest buying an N95 8GB from the Middle East as they come equipped with a special firmware that takes Arabic input into consideration.

If you installed Nokia PC Suite (http://europe.nokia.com/pcsuite) you can just connect your N95 to your PC and click on Software Updater on the Nokia PC Suite main menu. This should automatically check for the latest firmware available for your phone and install it.

in Nokia E71 NAM Now Available At The Nokia Blog Store For $420 on The Nokia Blog
So you get all those great features that E71 comes for $420? That's a wonderfull deal. Most importantly, you get that gorgeous QWERTY keyboard that I can't without. I am an E61 user and I've had it since it was released and I love everything about it. Upgrading to the E71 would be awesome!

in Nokia E71 Review Part I: The Physical on The Nokia Blog
By the way, the first picture of the E71 on this page is by far the most beautiful I have seen for the device. It makes me wanna run and get one...if only it had a decent camera (similar to N95 maybe?).

in How To: Send Locations From Google Maps on Computer To Nokia Maps On Phone on The Nokia Blog
@jason:
You're right. Most people these days have a wireless internet connection at home. Simply, access Google Maps on your Nokia device through WiFi (or 3G), search for whatever you want, and save the desired location to Landmarks. I am a big fan of using less devices and less steps to get what I want. Nevertheless, Mark is also right, since this guide is for those who are on the computer.

I have a question for you. Do you use a digital camera for the images you use in your posts or do you use a phone camera instead (i.e Nokia N95)?

in Windows Search 4.0 Beta is available for Upgrade on Sizlopedia
Wow. A 4th update! Is it really that hard finding a document or an image? Even if it was hard or tricky or time consuming, what is the longest time takes to find a file on your computer? I never spent more than 2 minutes finding anything I wanted. Wow.

"If Microsoft concentrates on features more than design this time then this OS is a definite hit."
I disagree with you. I think Microsoft should concentrate on both design and function. And Windows already has plenty of functions, options, tools, and every bell and whistle you can think about in an OS but the thing that it lacks is a seamless fluid interaction between the user and the software. Microsoft needs to hire a new young GUI team to give Windows a new WOW factor. That's what people now-a-days want. Something to be impressed with.

in Phoenix, Web-based Image Editor by Aviary on Sizlopedia
I don't imagine the photo editor will be as responsive as a client application. And that might be a major disadvantage. It web app might be used for light photo/image adjustments and tweaks though. But the heavy editing will be left for client applications.

in Microsoft Surface Coming Soon to At&t on Sizlopedia
I wonder how long will it take for this to arrive to Canada?
It seams any great product takes forever to show up in Canada (such as the iPhone for instance and of course Microsoft Surface).
Microsoft Surface will be sold commercially in the first year I am assuming. And I guess Microsoft will come up with something more convenient and less expensive for the agerage Joe in the coming years.

in April Fool’s Day: Apple presents 3G iPhone at CTIA! on iPhone World
Besides all what people said above I still find it kinda funny :)
The article is definitely not true. Steve Jobs would officially announe the new iPhone model with a keynote before we see or read anything like this.
Nice joke though :)

But the Pre definitely has potential and I hope it does well.
