in The Latest on the Yahoo Shakeup on Marketing Pilgrim
Yahoo should fix Yahoo TV. They messed it up with too much javascript and unnecessary clunkiness. They also need to unite their properties. Everything is so spread out.

We also forget that Yahoo started as a directory, not a search engine.

I sure hope this isn't true. I don't want Google to mess up another great company/service.

Seems like they are now doing what other search engines like A9 and Ask have been doing.

in Is Feedburner Siphoning Your Link Juice? on Marketing Pilgrim
I just turned off the feature. I don't get many hits, so it wasn't really useful for me anyway. Adds a little transparency.

Actually, that facebook group is disappointing. This isn't the killer app I was fearing.

Now the question is whether I continue to develop Nexus Trade or not.

in AOL’s New Design Screams "Don’t Innovate, Imitate!" on Marketing Pilgrim
While I normally believe people need to relax wen they get worked up over things like this, this does look pretty blatant. Though I doubt there is much recourse they have unless code was taken directly from Yahoo's page and used in AOL's.

I don't know, but I read that publishers will be able to choose ads that pay well or ads that match their content well.

Seriously, so what? Who cares who copies who?

I would recommend TalkShoe for a live show. If you do decide to signup let me know so I can earn some referral money. They put ads in shows and pay you based on how many people listen. Plus they pay $5 a show extra for your first 10 shows.

Today is my birthday so I think you should give me a mention and send traffic to my site. Then maybe I can find a job.

in Google AdWords Copying Yahoo Panama Interface? on Marketing Pilgrim
So what? Did they patent it? Is the code the same? We're talking about generic features and naming conventions. How about we stop worrying about who copied who and focus on which performs better?

I just now realized that Andy didn't post this. I should pay more attention. As should others when commenting.

in SEO Doesn’t Guarantee Blog Visitor Loyalty on Marketing Pilgrim
Sometimes I will find a blog from a search engine, but in those cases I am looking for specific information. I often won't come back once I found what I need, unless they have something else to keep me around.

Contests seem to be a lot better for getting readers. I subscribed to your blog when I heard about the Zune contest, but I just kept getting more and more involved in discussions. Now it's one of the few places I comment to, and the place I comment the most often.

in Is eBay Acquiring StumbleUpon? on Marketing Pilgrim
StumbleUpon doesn't seem like it's a fit for Google. Google is all about finding what you are looking for. Not randomly. Yahoo used to have a script that would randomly generate a url from their listings, but then it stopped working. I even had a script based on it that would display a random page using it.

And does anyone else finding it interesting that the logo for the Google feature is dice? Are they saying it's a gamble?

This thought definitely crossed my mind. With the dice logo are they saying it's a gamble? heh.

Shit. If they do this that kills my NexusTrade.com site. And even after I won second place in the TCNJ Business Plan Competition for it. What's a guy to do?

Not bad. I just put up another episode of my radio show. It's from August but it's a pretty good one. Once I get my old shows edited and posted online I hope to do a short weekly show online.

And what kind of accent do I hear?

in NBC & News Corp Enroll Comcast as Latest Anti-Google Ally? on Marketing Pilgrim
I agree with you. This could be very interesting to see play out. Youtube is so sluggish, and maybe Comcast can give preference to their own customers when transferring data.
