It amounts to merely a group of columnists who write a brief opinion piece once a day during the pre-election period. No comments, no links to other sites, no RSS feed, no different to an editorial. They're just using the term because it's "cool", not because they're entering into the blogosphere and engaging with others.

Re: Internet Community: Blogs vs. Forums

You're most welcome to debate my points over at my blog if you like.

The database structure can indeed be the same, and more integrated blog/forum tools are moving in this direction as more people require this functionality.

I'm happy to debate this on my blog if you like, but I don't believe it is necessary to debate someone by stating and wrongly assuming things about them such as "ignorance of databases" and going on about your own experience.

Re: Internet Community: Blogs vs. Forums

I agree too, Joe. My point wasn't that blogs and forums are the same, far from it! The database structure is the same, so blog+forum applications shouldn't be the saga that they are currently for many systems.

Re: Internet Community: Blogs vs. Forums

Different ways of looking at and interacting with content stored in the same format at the database level. A relational database with a table for posts, a table for comments, a table for categories.

Re: A hearty welcome to Jenn

Hi! While that was what I *figured* originally, by far the majority of people who read my blog never knew me in person before I started blogging :) It's pretty cool to have relationships all over the globe eh?.: peacerachel

Re: Pixoh - Lightning-Fast Online Image Editor

Heh, not *another* leaf logo.

Aside from that, there's not much to it yet compared with even PXN8 (although the design is way nicer).

Re: TweetBacks Beta

Hi Dan,

Thanks so much for taking my idea and making it reality :D I'd love to work with you more on making this into a Wordpress plugin and some of the options I talked about. Please email me if you are keen.

Cheers
Rachel
