Maybe no one will notice?

Why has parts of this final session felt like an inauguration? This is the most inspiring thing I have witnessed in my life....and I have a lot of life left to live.

Pres. Clinton's speech was everything that I hoped it would be. It included many of the things that I had believed was missing from Sen. Clinton's. Let's see what the media meme is going to be now. That the "rift" between Bill and Barack still exists?

This speech and the roll call more than made up for it whatever I believed was lacking from Sen. Clinton's speech. I was so very glad to see with my very eyes the Bill Clinton that could speak to the common senses of logical people. The Clinton of the campaign trail was not the same guy I had admired. This Clinton was and I hope that we see them both a lot more in the weeks to come. They will definitely be needed as we fight to reclaim the White House.

Exactly, Roba-ba. Where people can see it. Not everyone will find it on the Internet. It has to be easily accessible.

This period since Obama wrapped up the nomination reminds me of the time when Clinton began to rebound in the end, but it was too late and Obama wasn't really doing anything to seriously attack her. But this is a different situation. Why trust the media to disseminate this information when they are too busy trying to fit the convention and the campaign into whatever concotion they have come up with?

Attack ads, attack ads, attack ads. What happened to being on offense? It's a good thing that I am never going to be part of a political campaign. LOL!

There were just too many one liners in today's events that had me cracking up. If they can all be collected and used repeatedly online and by surrogates, the meme will really strike home.

Someone needs to shut that brunette on MSNBC up and I'm not talking about Rachel Maddow.

That speech was incredible. As a person who had always admired Clinton but grew angry at her campain tactics, I am so glad to see Sen. Clinton back to her true form. She had always been there, but hidden under the cloth of her strange managers.

I thought yesterday was a great day, but that thought has just been disproved. Wow! Warner, Schweitzer, and capped with Sen. Clinton? My God! What the heck are we going to see tomorrow???? I'm so pumped right now.

Is this turning into a habit for CBS? Or has this kind of butchering only been caught recently because we are paying closer attention and they post the entire video online than in their broadcast. I don't know what kind of editorial benefit it would have been to take that section out. That's altering the interview imo and I agree that it covers for McCain's constant use of his POW status as a clutch. CBS needs to be put on blast yet AGAIN.

Jed, thank you for the summary. I have loosely been paying attention to the conflict, and I have oft been confused as to why Obama chose to say both should put down arms while McCain wholeheartedly embraced Georgia. Seemed a bit of an odd move on McCain's part since much hadn't been known about what was going on at the time, but I wanted to know why the US would side with Georgia and not take a neutral stance on the matter. Your outline makes things clearer for me.

This conflict and the potential results of it has me unnerved. Anything concerning Russia, countries that used to be part of the USSR, and the United States gives me the heebees. I'm not old enough to recall anything about the Cold War and the conflicts that existed prior to it, but from the little I know (which isn't much), a potential rising Russia doesn't bode well for the Eastern half of the world. And with sentiments of the United States running on negative in several areas of the world, my uneasiness rises exponentially.

The more I read about this, the more pissed off I get. I mean, how exactly is the McCain campaign supposed to be held accountable for this mess? How can one shut their mouths and allow this continue? This is absolutely ridiculous! And to really think that people were up in arms about Obama opting out. Ugh!

I don't like shitting on a dead man's grave. Even when they have been terrible, I can't do it. But maybe that's just me. I react to people's deaths differently, but I suppose I generally follow the rule that if you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all.

Regardless of my personal feelings about Tony Snow's role in the Bush administration, the fact that he was still pretty young makes me sympathize. He's my mom's age, so it puts perspective on things for me. While he was the public mouthpiece for this illegal administration, he didn't exactly do anything to invoke hurt on a mass number of people.

As for Jesse Helms' passing, I really felt nothing. He had lived pretty long and apparently reeked havoc on the lives of others that entire time. Helms is new to my universe, being that my engagement in politics is still new, so I wasn't aware of his ignorance until his death. I couldn't bring myself to say "rest in peace" nor could I find it within myself to trash him. To God he goes to be dealt with. He is no longer a burden to the world, so for that, I see no further reason for me to react other than to pray that poisonous views of his kind would perish right along with him, even if only a little of it goes away with him.

Yes. That b.s. came directly from the head man himself. As if Obama is some child! I mean, who the hell do you think you are talking to? And if these people are not careful, there could very well be a backlash coming on them from those who do not agree with their flame-throwing. I have had to scale back my visits over at DailyKos because of it. The same with Ariana Huffington and the rest of them. It's as if everyone has lost their gatdamned minds!

Oh yes. That dude is the one who should definitely be avoided. You can't trust a thing that comes out his mouth. After he went on Fox News and said that they were the most accurate in their reporting (despite the shit that they threw against his candidate), that was enough for me to tune that fool out.

What exactly happened to the AP? It seems like I blinked and all of a sudden, their reporting has went from standard news reporting to opinion pieces and sloppy reports being sent out over the wires.

It would be fantastic if other organizations that rely on AP's reporting were shamed a number of times by retractions to actually move away from AP and actually invest back into using their own reporters. But with the way the economy is going, I doubt that's going to happen. Maybe Reuters will start getting better business.

But he is indeed one vote. Even if others are watching him, the Senate does comprise of more than just Democrats. When you have people like Hoyer and Pelosi supporting it and putting out their statements before Obama had an opportunity to put out his, I wonder how it would have played that Obama is running counter to the Democratic "leadership" in Congress.

Obama has not yet been conferred the nomination, so while it can be said that he is the "presumptive" leader of the Democratic Party at the moment, I doubt that enough Democrats would have moved into the "nay" column to keep the bill from passing.

I have asked this question over at dkos and have yet to receive an answer. Since so many are against FISA, I would like to see an outline of what is RIGHT about the legislation and what is WRONG with it versus what is currently in place. In addition to that, I'd like to know what would be preferential to the amended FISA. All I have seen thus far from the blogs is a lot of huffing over the issue, yet not one suggestion as to a possible additional amendment. Or maybe there has been one and I have missed it.

His "middle America doesn't want to take from the rich" (paraphrase) nonsense is a miscontruction of what Obama's message on taxing the rich more than the middle. After all, they make more, so why should those who make substantially less have to carry a heavier tax burden than the rich do? What's difficult to understand about that? How does that turn into taking from the rich? Selfish bastards.
