Those T&C weren't present when I signed up for the card, or when I first contacted the CFPB in late December. Looks like they were recently added.

I opened up a complaint through the CFPB, and got a response today from Amex as to why I'm not receiving 4x for several restaurant charges:

"You referenced several restaurants which were not receiving 4X points for your purchases. During our review of your account, we confirmed your purchases made at La Farine Bakery, Bartavelle Coffee & Wine Bar and Waystone do not qualify for additional points as these merchants submitted the charges using a wireless card reader."

"We explain at americanexpress.com/us/rewa... that in most cases, a purchase made through a third-party payment account or an online marketplace will not qualify for additional points. Also, purchases may not qualify for additional points if the merchant submits the purchase using a mobile or wireless card reader."

First, that URL doesn't work (404). Second, nowhere in their terms and conditions does it say anything about mobile or wireless card readers.

Ah, good to know. In the end, I wrote in to Hyatt and they were able to switch the certificates from "Category 1-4" to just "Free night".

I signed up for the Chase Hyatt card in December, and got awarded 2 free night certificates that are limited to Category 1-4. The language on the credit card application doesn't mention this restriction, so I'm hoping it's an error. I'm following up with Chase, but I'm wondering if any else has seen this with recent card applications?

I attempted to add the Disqus comment widget underneath every post on my Wordpress index page. I don't like forcing users to click through to the individual post page just to see/add comments.

It's pretty easy to get the basic logic working (just needed to override the is_single_post() check in the Wordpress & Disquss comments.php files), but I ran into a few problems on the Disqus JS side:

1) The Disqus JS inserts into globally-named DOM IDs, rather than post-specific IDs. I don't think I can change this on my end. On an index page with 10 posts, this causes 10 Disqus comment widgets to be inserted after the first post.
2) The JS bloat is predictably big, as it's re-downloading 2 JS files for each comment widget. In the long-run, I'd want to include one JS total (perhaps pass in several post IDs).

Other feedback:

1) You might consider a JS minimizer that at least strips out comments but also compresses your code.
2) You might consider at the very least one JS download for functionality, and another one for comment data. It's not clear to me why you need to JS downloads.

Ideally, for fast loading, it would be great to have a solution like this:

1) User visits my blog index page
2) They scan down to, say, the 6th post
3) They see the "3 comments" link, and click it
4) Either through AJAX (preferred) or iFrame (still not too bad), we display the Disqus comment widget for that post
5) User submits comment, widget remains open.
6) User can potentailly have several widgets open at same time.

The problem isn't Raggae music, it's Jamaican culture, and the way that gays are viewed as second-class citizens down in the islands (mon).

We just need Britney's producers to put together some gay twink Raggae boy band that'll climb to #1 in the charts in Raggae, and then the tide will shift.
