Also, it's great to have the EPL Talk Pod back on a regular basis. Jonathan has done a great job of carrying on the great interview tradition started by the Gaffer. Looking forward to more.

Every so often someone here will announce that America must play in the Winter months or not be a "true" football nation. Well in many parts of the US including my home town Chicago, the once in a 20 year snowfall and cold of England is an average winter event. repeated several times every winter. We have had only a handful of days above freezing since New Years and have several inches of snow frozen on the ground most of the year also.

So to all my friends across the pond have fun with the snow it's a rarity for you and now you know why MLS starts at the end of March!

I really appreciated Ching once I saw him up close in Chicago last year. He maybe the strong striker we need until the younger players are ready to go.

The sequence at the end of the first half was on of the most compelling ones I have seen in football. You knew that Man U was going to put the ball in the net. The Chelsea fans may not have a lot to like but from a neutral fans point of view what a game!

To me the FA Cup has the same appeal that the NCAA Basketball tournament has. A big fish can be knocked off by the little fish at any time. In both events seldom does the little fish win it all but along the way there are a lot of near misses and a few upsets.

The FA Cup may have as much of a modern day value as the Monarchy but who can imagine England without either. Chris is right on that it's part of the charm that makes England so interesting to the American audience.

Thanks you for making football personal for me. Recently, I was able to meet Atlanta Pompey in Chicago and take in a match at the Globe with him. Now Beckham, AP, and I have all been their! I was able to meet Kartik for a game in Chicago in the past. So for me it's been more then checking the website for articles. It's enabled me to meet new friends. I hope in the future to have more of the readers as my guest in Chicago.

I hope you have continued good health in the New Year and in 2009 Chris. I hope to send in a article or two or three as my New Years resolution!

Thanks Gaffer and Happy New Year. We often miss out on the FA Cup matches in the US. This year the New Years weekend makes viewing a lot easier. Still with the TV schedules the networks do not do a good job of keeping us posted. Any news on Setanta on Comcast in Chicago?

It's all garbage if you ask me unless it's the 39th game. Anything else is a bad deal for the US
soccer. fan I'm sorry AP, but the HK type tournament is not acceptable. I've seen one too many European clubs come to the States and take my money. The only game that was worth my money was when Real Madrid with David Beckham played Chivas in Chicago a few years back. Pre-season friendlies should have free admission only, I'll only pay for my food.

What FSC will look like program wise in 2010 is clearly up in the air. But once again for those of us who love soccer and have seen it in HD there is nothing like it. FSC takes a lot of abuse from American soccer fans and are never very quick on the draw so to speak but they eventually get around to doing something right. Good news.

Has the wide open race increased interest at this point. How many of us here, which maybe not a good sample group can say they are more or less interested in the Prem., when we see nil-nil scores across the board. Are we really happier when all the Big 4 teams come empty like they did last weekend. Is having a giant good for the sport. After, all the strange results we have seen so far the Big 4 are still in places 1 to 5. Is there really change we can believe in, or is this just a tease to keep us watching during the Christmas shopping season?

It certainly struck me as one of the strangest days that I could remember since following the EPL. Trouble at Arsenal is understandable for the result today. Is someone very unhappy at Man U, seems so to me. Does Chelsea still have players that miss Jose? The Liverpool result is not as surprising.

Think of the near term future when Man.C. gets some help and the big four are struggling as they are and are fighting mid-week in the CL. Can this be the year for a new name at the top. Villa may think so and Hull City have to be taken seriously for a European spot.
