Through other people present at the event who played with the tablet a bit (I didn't) I've been told it's a Tegra based tablet that NVIDIA have developed to show off to various companies. This one was made for T-Mobile and carried their logo.

So mystery solved! :-) I knew it wasn't an Apple tablet but I didn't know the details myself until now.

Hey Tarek, remember we're an Apple site, not just a Mac site. We deal with issues of iPod, Apple TV, iPhone, digital cameras, printers, scanners, Internet and much more as well.

Thanks dbatrium, for taking the time to leave a comment. I can drool a bit over what they're working on in terms of a tablet. Huang was asked at the event about a possible Apple tablet and he just gave a bit of a smirk and said he wanted Apple to comment on Apple news ;-)

As far as I understand it, there's no limit, fair use or not, on AT&T's iPhone plans. Is that correct, as far as you guys know?

You're right, on the same principle I should object to that too, and I do. The difference is I never go for brunch so that's not on my daily radar in the same way ;-)

Welcome Grace! You say "might include my journey from PC to Mac" - so you're not already a Mac user then. Why would you want to write for an "Apple lifestyle magazine" then? For sure, there's more to Apple than Mac, but Mac is typically at the core of someone's interest in Apple.

So basically you agree to disagree on the conclusions!? I take the point though that we should be more careful, myself included, with what we state as facts, opinions, rumors, etc. They are not the same and it can easily be misunderstood.

One thing I'm very glad about is that the posts of the blogging crew are getting read and noticed. We just need to keep monitoring how it all develops and figure out how to best manage this. We're new at it and I think the ME business world is also pretty unfamiliar with this as well.

True, user experience is different because of screen, keyboard, trackpad and more. But in functionality, what you actually do with it, they at least significantly overlap, the iPhone and netbooks. And you're perfectly within your rights to compare your E51 to a netbook, just that my piece wasn't about E51 ;-) For me, what I have previously done sometimes on a netbook running Mac OS X I now do on my 3GS.

I totally agree ghoonk. I think 10GB is more than enough for 99.99% of customers, or more. What I am a bit annoyed at is the insistence on calling something that is really limited "unlimited". Du does that, Etisalat too and many other telcos around the world. Makes no difference in practice but it annoys me because it's not true.

Well, yes, I'm not seriously saying that it's a netbook but it can in fact do many of the things that people use netbooks for, so in that sense it can be a netbook.

Unless Etisalat submitted something very different from du I don't see why they would reject it. You may be right about TRA but from what I can tell from people in TRA there are other factors in play that sometimes affect decisions.

I'm with du too. Yesterday going to F1 I had some issues with coverage but I never lost data connection. This delay from etisalat with 3GS plans is crazy, not sure what the reason is but it's totally putting them in an awkward position.

Ziham, I think many people feel the same frustration. I got an Etisalat 3G in Feb but this time I didn't hesitate to get a du one. I understand that coverage is a worry for many but du is working seriously hard on that issue. I've had du SIM in one of my iPhones for many months and I've never had any issues with coverage but then I move mainly in and around Dubai. Concerning your number, TRA has said that in November you should be able to take your number with you between operators.

It's a mystery, Khaled. Remember Etisalat has been extremely quiet about their 3GS and still after launch there are no plans. I could ask someone at Etisalat but I'm 99.9% sure they won't say anything, even if they knew something. I talked to someone there yesterday, someone who you would think should know about plans because of their position and I really believe him when he says he doesn't know details of plans or when they're coming.
