I think that may be the week of Master's National Track Championships in Colorado Springs. I stay in CS starting Tuesday night, the 18th through Sunday. When do you get in? Let's chat over email!

Re: Grrr. Good luck with it. Probably once you get through the first few days, you'll be just fine.

Re: Triple Bypass 2009 – A Modest Report

Andrew, you did amazingly well, I was so impressed by your riding and perseverance! Rather, he brings together a community of folks who in turn make the ideas grow and develop.

He would be the perfect addition to any business school and Leeds will be lucky to have such a wonderful community builder in their program.

Re: 33 for 33

I for one am really hoping you rawk it with the roller derby. Equally as awesome is that I managed to click on a you tube video after watching that skateboarding dog on your site that loudly played "who let the dogs out". Figures!

Another fun part of the weekend for me was that run around Silver Lake. It's probably the only time I'll be able to hang with you, Tara, since you are at the beginning of your marathon training.

Next time, we gotta get Caroline out here for some mountain town touristy stuff! I've never done the Coors brewery tour or gone to the casinos in Central City or Blackhawk...

Re: Smell That? I Think Its Me Burning Out

Nice, post, Micah.

I found doing something physical like cycling, hiking with friends and yoga really help keep me from burnout. The times I need these things the most are the times that they are hardest to do. It's certainly a struggle to keep these balancing aspects in my life, but when you put your whole heart into a project/startup/team and you have nothing else to hold on to (such as these activities, especially with friends) the failures seem that much worse and you end up super discouraged and deflated.

Also, each time I start on a new project or a new endeavor when things are new and exciting, I remind myself to expect the down time and to expect the roller coaster ride. (when talking to friends, I sometimes say, "remind me about this happy/successful moment when I'm about to cry at some point in the future, please").

Re: 5 Great Gifts for the Chocolate Lover in Your Life

Super awesome chocolate series makes me happy.

Re: How to Drop it at Ignite Boulder (an attendee perspective)

Collin, you just summed it all up pretty well here. It's a funny thing because just because you have something to say, doesn't mean you should say it. I think people also underestimate how difficult it can be to get up in front of the crowd like that.

Well, I was pretty inspired last time so you may see me onstage next time. Please, be nice!

Re: louisgray.com: Posty Author's Guide to Unfollow Uninteresting Twitterers

Nice post! I have been trying to figure out how to manage my growing list as well.

As a programmer, I find that there are certain times of the day that I can't be interrupted with any incoming data, and other times where I am very much a multitasker, checking into my stream every few minutes.

One trick I've used to manage the volume is to send my BFFs to SMS. I also add a few "guests" to this list. I follow a stranger or "guest" for a period of time in order to "get to know them" and their patterns, which is where the personality starts to shine through. This way, I can see the filtered list on my iPhone when I have a break in the day.

Hmm, that filtering ability sounds like it could be a really cool mashup, come to think of it...wonder if any exist...

Re: Will OpenID Lose to Facebook Connect?

FBConnect is cool but hope Open ID makes it!

Re: Sending you some gratitude

Sukhjit is awesome

Re: A much happier half-marathon

You are a rockstar, my lovely lady!

Re: Making some noise

Giannii works at Disqus now, yay!

Re: Find PHP code that is not UTF-8 safe

David, thanks for posting this! One thing that also helps me is cutting out the distraction. Who cares if you don't go to all the cool kid parties or outings. Sometimes you just need to turn off Twitter and focus. I also like to exercise in a group--going on a bike ride with friends not only reinvigorates you and keeps your body/mind healthy but it's social.
