Steven, how about you go tally up the number of comments I've made on TechCrunch then try telling me that.

You're the one with a distorted since of what objectivity is, and I find it insulting given the work I put into reporting.

Go take a look at all of the other TechCrunch sponsors who didn't even make it into TC50. Go take a look at the other TC50 sponsors who didn't get any sort of positive recognition within the competition. Yammer won because it's an interesting idea. I've very pointedly noted the issues with it, both in my previous post and in this one.

In general, I find it really annoying when people who are clearly not trying to be objective try to give journalists lessons on objectivity.

Re: TC50: Twitter-for-business startup Yammer wins TechCrunch50, I may eat my hat

Bob, Geni isn't a TechCrunch sponsor: http://www.techcrunch50.com/2008/conference/par...

In any case, it sounds like you've already answered your own question.

Re: TC50: Twitter-for-business startup Yammer wins TechCrunch50, I may eat my hat

JD,

Well, Presently is one of the 11 companies cited by Owyang, which I already linked to, above. As you know, we sometimes publish hot rumors in order to explain why we don't believe them. That's what I did here. You know that nearly all of my articles are focused on the facts, first. Hopefully, some of those ones will keep you reading us. :)

Re: Rumor from the news doldrums of August: Mormon church trying to buy Facebook

Exactly.

Re: Rumor from the news doldrums of August: Mormon church trying to buy Facebook

Thanks, Andreas.

Re: Say goodbye to suburbia: California moves to cut urban sprawl

FC, I'm giving you one guess to figure out which California city Chris lives in (and yes, he also rides his bike around a lot).

That said, I love LA, but I think that's because I have friends down there who have cars. The fact that LA is so decentralized makes it harder for newcomers to get a good appreciation for the place. If there were an easier way for people to discover the thousands of little communities and scenes there, it'd be a different story.

Re: Rumor from the news doldrums of August: Mormon church trying to buy Facebook

Please read the article again, John.

Re: Rumor from the news doldrums of August: Mormon church trying to buy Facebook

Thanks, Jeff

Re: Rumor from the news doldrums of August: Mormon church trying to buy Facebook

Thanks, Mark.

Re: Rumor from the news doldrums of August: Mormon church trying to buy Facebook

That's a fair point.
