That's Sweded, yeah. I'm specifically trying to think of Sweding in fiction. The makers of Homestar Runner make the characters do the Sweding. I always thought of it as humorous deconstruction.

Still wish I'd only read this after seeing the film, as I was painfully aware of the frequent songs. Still, the quick scenes of the first act didn't disappoint me as much as they did you, and I have to say that in my limited experience, this is my favorite film of 2007.

So Cody's first column is nowhere near as good as her blog was. And the "Zeppelin-era" reference is sloppy given their new tour. I have hope she'll improve, and I expect to see her mature as a writer and filmmaker.

I'm unclear what you're saying about Dawson -- you like her music? I'm into it after a couple of tracks.

I'm a Democrat, and all of the Repubican candidates scare me. I'm terrified by Giuliani's poor grasp of international diplomacy and warmongering bent, and by Huckabee and Romney's anti-civil-rights Christian values. McCain seems tolerable but still too conservative and too willing to pander.

Edwards seems too idealistic. Hillary seems capable but too war-friendly. Obama has the right policies, a realistic outlook, and the popularity to overcome any GOP candidate.

Oh, I've seen confident unsexy girls. It's a sad truth. But I've seen far more non-confident sexy girls. Truth is, if I realize too late that I've walked into a terribly unsexy situation, I'll still carry it through. But the vast majority of the time I'm either sharing the wonderfulness of the girl I'm with, or being a little frustrated that she doesn't appreciate her body as much as I do.
