I have 2 dogs. Guinness, a chocolate lab that was named by a couple of college students (they must have enjoyed dark beer!), and Belle, a blue-tick coon hound that we found half-starved and running down the road. Obama scares the crap out of me. He is such a smooth talker that he can lie and people just let it slide by. Seriously. He lied about using his Senatorship as a stepping stone to the Presidency. He said he wasn't going to run for President when he was campaigning for the Senator seat. And he said that numerous times. Quite frankly, he has been in office for such a short amount of time that he has done nothing for me as an Illinoisan. It bothers me that he did not even finish out his freshman term before running for President. It bothers me a great deal actually. I really, really, really wish my Dad was still alive so I could hear his opinion on Obama. He served in the Illinois Senate at the same time that my Dad served in the Illinois House. I guess what it boils down to is that I don't trust Obama at all.
Now McCain has issues, too. And you touched on them. Like you, I don't want a perfect person as President but I am not sure that we really have a good candidate in either of these men.
