in How I Grow My Blog Organically Using These 5 Tips on The Michel Fortin Blog
Thanks for the great tips Michel. I like @Carol Bremner saw a light bulb when you spoke about using your autoresponder and broadcasts to drive traffic. I'm going to sit down today and work that into my blog schedule.

I think my best post of the year (and definitely the most popular) is one I
wrote in the first few weeks of starting my Disney World blog. I wrote about
the best time to visit Walt Disney World and hopefully it has helped a
few people plan a great vacation!

Thanks for rounding up - I agree that putting the keyword in the name box can feel spammy - but I like the sound of the keywordluv plugin and am off to download it now. thanks for the tip off.

in 4 Fit and Healthy Technology Tools on The Get Smart Blog
I'm a big fan of the Wii Fit. I used it every day for a month and could tell the difference in my tummy and my thighs felt more toned too. The only thing is I get frustrated with it when you spend more time moving between exercises than actually working out. I wish someone would make an add on that lets you select a number of exercises up front and then just work through them one after the other.

in Backlinking With Do Follow and Comment Luv on The Get Smart Blog
Welcome to the world of Wordpress - isn't is so much better than Blogger? I love your design - especially your header. I have Comment Luv installed on my site - I like to see what my commenters have written on their site so that i can stop by and visit them. I'm not a fan of people leaving a keyword instead of their name or online alias in the comment name field. In fact if I see a keyword when moderating comments I look more closely to see if its spam. It's difficult - because we all want to build back links but then its not right to spam a blog just because it has do follow set up.

Interesting concept - I am part of a book blogging community and we're always doing contests, this would definitely help.

in How to get your photo in Zemanta? on Zemanta Official Blog
Any chance of a link up with photobucket? It would be great to be able to access my image stash when I'm blogging and that's where I store them. I save Flickr for the proper photographs.

For that matter, other photo hosting services like Panoramio, Picasa, or SmugMug.

Every Mac owner should buy Parallel for running windows on your mac. That is what I do and it allows me to have the best of both worlds.

in Best Keywords for Blog Posts via KeywordCorral on John Cow dot COM
I've been using some other keyword tools when writing blog posts and have managed to score P1 for a couple of them. I'm always looking for new tools though so I'll be checking this out. I think there is a fine line between using a strong keyword in your title, post to ensure people actually find it via google and over stuffing the post so your copy becomes rubbish and you upset your regular readers.

in Book Review | Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin on Blue Archipelago
Hey Marg - I read your review - you covered all the points I would have if I'd taken time to write a proper review - the book just didn't inspire me enough to spend the time!
Kristen - I think that's why it didn't sit quite right - the people doing the cheating had the happy ending and that's not right! Over on Marg's blog I confessed that I'd rather the ending hadn't been a happy one and that Rachel's first cooked dinner was interrupted by a policeman arriving at the door to announce an accident of some sort!

Hey y'all - good to hear positive things about the books on the pile. I ordered the missing Anne books so hopefully they'll be here by the weekend - I'm reading Before Green Gables and it's really good and has me needing a fix of the real thing!
Dew - the photo is embellished with some of my digi scrap goodies - I couldn't help it!
Trish - yay to exchanging notes - I'm reading it for my book club - I've heard lots of good things so hope I'll enjoy it

So how many books are in that running list then?

@John - I left a post on your blog with the link to Nymeth's carnival - and thanks for the link to Cotton Timer.
@Gautami - I think I would miss the feel of the paper - but then I still have a lot of books to read that would keep me going alongside the kindle for a few years *lol*
@J. Kaye - I'm not good with screen reading - I understand the kindle is less shiny than a normal screen... It is a good idea though.
@Hsien - hello! I just read your post and left you a message. I am more tempted after reading your thoughts!
@Irish -its the price that's holding me back currently! Thanks for the book recommendations I'll be sure to check them out
@Megan - it is a pain that the wifi doesn't work here - I'd love to be able to access my blogs on the move. You are right about the cost of the books on top of the unit - I feel they should be much cheaper... after all they don't have any production costs!
@Julie - you're right - the library is free - but I have a thing about reading books that have been read by someone else so I tend to avoid libraries...
@Bethany - I think the screen is what was putting me off most (along with the price) but as Hsien says it's actually quite easy on the eye - and you can adjust the typeface to suit (some books do have such small text they're hard to read!)
@Kim - I loved the Goose Girl - be sure to read the review - and will look into the novels you've mentioned - I've never read a graphic book before so it would take me out of another comfort zone
@Nymeth - I loved it - and have emailed you the link for the carnival - and Briar Rose is on my wish list so I may have to buy it sooner than later
Thanks for all the help everyone - I think I may do some more research around actual costs - and maybe cross ref my growing wish list to see which I could buy on the kindle instead. Ooh I sense a project coming on! I'll post an update when I make a decision either way.
