in Your Weekly ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ Blog on A Place To Crash
Somehow I missed that this was even going to be on and caught the last ten minutes the other night. Thankfully ITV repeats on its other channels.

Only downside of this is that 1. I'm away and 2. ITV seems to trying to promote the show by re-running last year's episodes of America's Got Talent which seemed designed to prove that we don't.

I'm not a giant fan of Ant and Dec, mostly 'cos I don't like the shows they present. But when they do present a show I like (e.g. BGT) it shows what a huge talent great presenting is - and how key it is to making a show like this. They are tops.

Simon Cowell crossed the line when he hit Amanda Holden's buzzer to stop the singing quickchange artists. That went beyond mean into being a compleete d*ck.

I didn't reply at first, because I don't think it really matters. As long as it's something you're really interested in - and it's a range of different stuff - then it'll be good. So all of the above - and anything else.

British tv is always good, 'cause then I'll know what I'm missing.

Sorry to hear the recovery's been a little slower than you'd hoped. But glad to see you posting. I was starting to get worried.

Yes it is. At least that's premise I've been working on for years.

Now, now...concentrate on a greater than 50% graduation rate? Don't be ridiculous.

I have to admit when I read about the "rich retirees" I thought - Lawrence County? Rich retirees? Folks will retire there for the beautiful views, the splendid cultural offerings, the fabulous shopping, the recreational facilities, the balmy climate, the charming locals...

Geez...AFAIK, the only thing it has that might lure me into retiring there is SunDrop and proximity to family grave plots.

My mom - lifelong Dem voted for Freddie when he ran for Senate, and she's still mad he did nothing for the town.

The latest LA Times story paints the town a leetle more colorfully.

in It’s Liquid, Yellow Crack, I Tell Ya on A Place To Crash
When I was a freshman in college (at UT of course!) I was drinking a SunDrop for breakfast at one of the cafeterias. SunDrop was unavailable in Knoxville at that time. Some guy - can't remember which county he was from, but definitely SunDrop country noticed my drink from across the room. He tried to buy some of my stash. I refused, but he understood even though he was jonesing hard. We had a long conversation about the relative merits of the different SunDrop bottlers.

Have you ever had the cherry SunDrop at Reeves drugstore on the square in Pulaski? Basically they add sugary cherry syrup to SunDrop. If there's anything better in the world than a SunDrop, it's Reeves' cherry SunDrop.
