in Shut Your Mouth Porter! on Lets Go Dolphins : Miami Dolphins Fan Site
You know, I realize Matt Cassel isn't nearly as good as Tom Brady and never
will be. However, before Porter went and opened his mouth, he should have
looked at it in plain sight. The Dolphins lost, at home, to the Jets. The
following week, the Jets, also at home, lost to Matt Cassel and the
Patriots. Plain and simple, the Dolphins have no chance. Now watch, now
amazingly Cassel will be Brady-like and toss for about 300 yards and 4 tds.
Porter has always talked trash, and rarely ever backed it up. Plain and
simple, even minus Brady, the Fins are nowhere near the Patriots. 0-3, here
we come!

in Huge Step Backward on Lets Go Dolphins : Miami Dolphins Fan Site
First, I will state that the Cardinals have a good shot at winning their
conference this year, although that's not an endorsement of their talent. Of
course the Fins have taken a huge step back. They got rid of their two best
defensive players, and they brought in a has been to play as the starting
QB. Ronnie Brown is looking fairly good coming off his injury, but Ricky
Williams is getting the bulk of the carries and hasn't produced. Based on
what they lost in the off-season, as opposed to what they brought in, you
had to assume it was going to get worse before it's going to get better. Of
course, they can't do much worse than last year, but it's clear that it will
still be a few years before we can even hope for a .500 record. Can we give
Quincy Carter another shot? Please? Ricky needs green to run well.

in 2008 Season Prediction on Lets Go Dolphins : Miami Dolphins Fan Site
Going through the schedule, I just can't see the Dolphins putting up
anything better than 5-11, with 4-12 being much more likely. Yeah, they were
kind of competitive against the Jets, but really, the Jets aren't that good.
Fine, they have Favre, but Favre doesn't make them good. I think we would
have seen a similar result if Kellen Clemens had started for the Jets.

Bottom line is there are to many question marks all over the field. Williams
didn't look good, all though Ronnie Brown didn't look bad. The wide
receivers were virtually non-existent. The O-line didn't play particularly
well against a very average Jets D-line. I would love to see the Fins go
8-8, I would, I just think it's more likely that the Cubs will win the world
series this year.

in Tough Love Works For Henne on Lets Go Dolphins : Miami Dolphins Fan Site
I agree. All NFL rookies should be treated the same way. It teaches them
respect and keeps them from getting big heads. Also, if you do nothing but
give praise, there is no incentive for them to improve their skills, and
they may stay stagnant.

in Its Official on Lets Go Dolphins : Miami Dolphins Fan Site
I don't find it surprising that Pennington was named the starter, he should
be based on his experience level. There are a couple things I worry about
though. I know he's a smart guy, but does he really know the playbook well
enough at this point? I guess it doesn't make a huge difference, because
even if he knows every play in the book it isn't going to make the
difference between making the team playoff bound or not, but it's worth
worrying about anyway.

I don't know that he'll need to prove he's still a top tier QB though. Think
about it, if Brady were dressing as the starting QB for the Dolphins this
year, would he look like a top tier QB? Probably not. I think regardless of
how he plays, you let him play all of this season, or at least until he
hurts his shoulder again. If anyone knows about the proper way to develop a
QB, it's Parcells. I don't think he wants to see Henne take a single snap
this entire season, and it would really serve Henne well if that turns out
to be the case.

in Fins Win Again on Lets Go Dolphins : Miami Dolphins Fan Site
It is nice to see the Dolphins win, but, it is just the preseason. It doesn't count, and half the teams aren't trying. Look at the Patriots, if you were to give them a preseason letter grade as to how they'll play in the regular season, you'd say they're going to be one of the worst teams in the NFL. That, and Chiefs are going to be one of the 2 or 3 worst teams in the league this year. As my old man would say, "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then".

I don't think people will be saying Ronnie who. Remember, Brown was the best back in the league last year in terms of production before his injury. Assuming he bounces back well from the injury, he could be right back up at the top of the stats columns.

in Dolphins say “Thanks, but No Thanks” to Horn on Lets Go Dolphins : Miami Dolphins Fan Site
Horn has nothing to offer. He is long in the tooth, injury prone, and he animatedly supported Michael Vick. That is just a primordial cocktail of filthiness! I don't think he would be good as a young mentor to the younger guys, as he tends to talk to much trash - trash he can't back up on the field anymore. If he was a valuable commodity, you know someone like New England would have gobbled him up, because they can never have enough receivers to throw to up there. Jerks.

In all truthfulness, I would be much more open to the idea of Terry Glenn coming to the Dolphins. I would say he has had the better of the two careers, and isn't going to be a mouthpiece off the field. The young guys could learn more from him, than they could from Horn. Personally, I don't want either of them.

in Keeping Four QBs? on Lets Go Dolphins : Miami Dolphins Fan Site
Why the Dolphins would even consider keeping four quarterbacks on their
roster, when they have other needs that are much more pressing baffles me.
Cut McCown, and use his roster spot to pick up a player that can help and
possibly make a difference on the team. The team has so many other spots on
the field that need help. It just doesn't make a lot of sense after
investing a lot of money into Pennington, and strongly favoring Henne as the
#2, to keep McCown. He is semi-respectable as a #2, and I'm sure another
team would eat him up, so cut him loose.

in 2 Chads Better Than 1 on Lets Go Dolphins : Miami Dolphins Fan Site
I think it's imperative that Henne learn as much as possible from
Pennington. You see rookie quarterbacks struggle, and ultimatley fail all
the time because they are thrown in as the starter from the get-go.
Sometimes they're over hyped, other times though, it's a college
quarterback, with no NFL knowledge, trying to teach himself. It would be
good for Henne to spend a couple years learning under Pennington. Of course
the only down side is Pennington himself. He'll be injured and need shoulder
surgery again by what, week 7?

in Pennington to the Dolphins? on Lets Go Dolphins : Miami Dolphins Fan Site
I have mixed feelings about Pennington. At one point, he was a pretty good
NFL quarterback, and then came the injuries. His arm/shoulder strength is
significantly weaker than it was to begin with. That being the case, it's
easy to understand why he lost his starting job last year with the Jets. I
know the Jets weren't as bad as Miami last year, but they certainly weren't
great. If the Dolphins ink Pennington, I don't want to see him take a single
regular season snap. I would only want to see him signed to educate Henne.
Even then, who knows what kind of money he's asking for. Depending on the
price, he may not be worth it. Really, if you're going to sign a veteran QB
for your younger guys to learn from, someone with a little bit higher
winning percentage would be better. I think Pennington is a waste of Miami's
time. Bring back Quincy!

in Carter Workout a Waste of Time! on Lets Go Dolphins : Miami Dolphins Fan Site
Clearly you two are both fooled by the smoke screen surrounding this. I think its quite obvious that Ricky Williams ran out of pot and Parcells brought in Carter to remedy the situation. The tryout was just a cover! Trust no one.

in Help Wanted: Terry Glenn to the Rescue? on Lets Go Dolphins : Miami Dolphins Fan Site
Terry Glenn playing for the Dolphins makes as much sense as Brett Favre playing for them. Any respectable veteran wants that one last shot at a Super Bowl ring. Glenn could help the Dolphins a lot, but plain and simple there is no chance it would ever happen.

in Eenie, Meanie, Minie, Mo…Why Not Give Chad A Go? on Lets Go Dolphins : Miami Dolphins Fan Site
There is no harm in putting Henne in as the starting quarterback. The issue is simple. No other quarterback on this team is going to be able to teach Henne anything. That being said, the only way Henne will learn anything is if he's baptised by fire. He doesn't have a Brett Favre to learn from, and he has the most raw talent. Give the kid a go!
