I would actually love to read some teenage Obama fan-fiction. Would would that even be like?

But, yeah, that dude is an asshole.

I thought that dragon from Never ending story was a dog too. Very nice drawings. And the Five Alive callback was classic. It's funny what things stick with us over time.

Jim Indeed. I'm thinking it was probably the really colorful logo and box design. Or perhaps it was really delicious? Now, I'm really going to have to try to find some.

I too was misinformed about canvassing. Thanks for clearing that up. This seemed quite surreal.

But unitarians are pretty liberal. comparatively speaking.

Jim Oh, I don't doubt that. It's just that I don't see the point of going to a church service. I hated those as a kid, even more than hearing about a god that seemed suspect to me.

Good, and fair review. (I loved the movie, but I also love good reviews)

I see where you are going about there being a wall of believability when it comes to the realism of the film. Coming in spoiler-free, I wasn't expecting that at all, but in terms of establishing Gotham's need for heroes and hope, I think the film did that, I dunno if that was the only point though. Gotham needed heroes and hope so badly that they did pin their hopes on a very unlikely source, Dent, but he too, was only a man. I found it believable, if a bit paternalistic, that Batman/Gordon would feel the need to protect the secret of his murders to keep the city's faith.

I've got more, but it's morning and my boss is looking at me.

Jim I did see Gotham's need for hope, certainly, but the movie didn't really establish to me their need for heroes, especially not their need for Dent. But you're right in that the movie had other points and did succeed on some of those.

I should make a Wordpress theme that looks like MS Word or something!

There's quite a bit of incorrect information in this post, including the information that Tony listed above.

Also, Reznor had hinted for quite a few years at his unhappiness with high CD prices and his desire to go independent with distribution and sales of NIN's work once his major label contract was up. It's likely he may have gone the free route whether or not Radiohead had or not. And technically, Prince did went the free CD route before either of those artists.

I am a fan of both bands but it seems clear that Reznor (and other artists like Jill Sobule) are attempting to experiment with free music as a new business model for music distribution while Radiohead had no such plans. Radiohead is getting the credit for this model, but it was the inevitable next step for the music industry, it will continue whether they are part of it or nor.
