in Why I’m Voting for Barack Obama on Frank
Nice. All day I've been thinking how we're onthe cusp of something historic. And how someday I'll say to my grandkids, yes I remember. And I voted for him.

Thanks, Lex. Tomorrow is the day I'll remember for a lifetime. If I'm lucky to live a long life, I'll be talking about this in decades.

in Annual Performance Reviews Don’t Work on KnowHR Blog
As usual, KnowHR is ahead of the curve. Today's WSJ includes an article called "Get Rid of the Performance Review," front page on this morning's electronic edition: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122426318874844.... To Frank's point, the author recommends performance "previews,' saying:
It doesn't happen only annually; it takes place each time either the boss or the subordinate has the feeling that they aren't working well together.
Nice work, iFractal.

Thank you, sir. We've felt strongly about this for some time...powerful stuff, letting go of long-held beliefs.

in How to Write the Best Damn PowerPoint Headlines Ever on KnowHR Blog
Some serious words of wisdom, here. Frank, please spread this Gospel far and wide, especially to lawyers. Most attorneys treat Powerpoint like a teleprompter, jamming the full text of their speeches. The enlightened ones treat it like an outline. Save them both, please. Here's a headline I'd like to see: PowerPoint Illustrates Presentation.

in Clueless HR People on KnowHR Blog
Wow. I wonder how many people watched without realizing it was a joke? I've also sat through a few "diversity training" sessions where colleagues would argue with the presenter. So from that perspective this clip is also a bit uncomfortable.

in The Brightest and Best on Frank
Thanks for sharing the great news, Frank. And don't think we don't see how you're subtly comparing yourself with JFK. Powdered donuts conspiring to pop your buttons? You might as well have said "ich bin ein Berliner."
