I definitely cant fault the service you personally provided me during all the issues I had with credit checks etc when signing up but what about data settings for SIM only customers?

When I enquired how I obtain these for an N82 I was simple told that the N82 was not supported by Vodafone and to look at the forums. After searching around I found the GPRS settings but am still experiencing issues with MMS and its got to the stage where I simply cant be bothered anymore which means lost revenues for Vodafone.

Vodafone should have a serious look at O2's SIM Only offering. The online billing was smooth and easily understood but most importantly everytime I put my SIM card in a new handset the WAP, mobile web and MMS settings were pushed to me straight away...

I recently moved from O2 sim only to Vodafone sim only and had exactly the same problem with my N82. When contacting Vodafone they offered no help with data, mms settings etc After being with O2 sim only for 2+ yrs I can safely say the sim free service beats Vodafones hands down with support issues and online billing.

If it wasnt for O2's slow network I would be back in a flash

The original Nokia 6110 was and has always been a favourite of mine. Robust and reliable and looks good as well :)

I have a Pay as you go iPhone which will stay on O2 due to the free data but my contract sim of many yrs is moving to Vodafone. I've had enough of slow unreliable data and poor signal pick up.

@nitin - spot on, a typo there!!

@nacho - I know its incredible!! As soon as you walk out the door its full signal... I'm on the phone to my lawyers as we speak ;)

I'm happy to unlock a handset but by buying a handset on another network and unlocking it I am incurring extra cost. Most likely an extra £35+ a month for 18 months.. more than £400

I appreciate I can get round this problem by spending money, putting in the extra effort... Ive been doing it for years but my main annoyance with this whole scenario (that maybe I havent got across too well in the article) is that I simply cant just turn up to a shop, buy the phone i want on the network i want like i and everybody else used to be able to do..... 10 yrs ago!!

suggestions have been gratefully received though :)

@TerenceEden @garethjames - One simple reason... cost! I have been on an O2 simplicity tariff for just under 24 months now... Due to various reasons I'm having to make some changes into the way I spend my money and £400 for an HTC Hero is just simply too much! I know I end up paying that £400 over the course of the contract but the payments are spread out over the course of 18 months.

@philtrick - interesting comments I never really thought of it that way. One of the reasons I did start looking at contracts again was due to specific offers on individual networks for example skype calls on 3. I did wonder whether I was missing out in anyway....

Currently looking at buying a new handset and in complete agreement that Nokia has best hardware but my patience with s60 has run out.... This would have been a great move

Im pretty sure on newer pay as you go sims you need to make a call or send a text every 90 days to keep the sim active.

Surely you need more than that? By the time it has got round everyone to voice their opinions their will be something new out......

I LOVE this app, its a shame Sky are so slow at updating their own application as it linked in very nicely with SkyBet but this is brilliant. I also think the layout of the TV guide is better than Sky's and even when I am at home i use it to see what i want to watch!!
