Alas Poor George...Methinks what he really wishes for Christmas is the spin necessary to keep history from discrediting Condoleza Rice's Coercive Diplomacy. Too bad she and the family jewels Gene Simmons are the only diplomacy to be seen...so much for the 1776 "seminal decision."

It's great to see that this debate is underway.

The long-term record is going to require some truly epic historian(s) with some unique approaches to their tradecraft.

I suspect the right analysis is going to require the understanding that multiple objectives were being worked simultaneously, some overtly, some not. Holistically I doubt whether any one historian will be able to capture this. Ultimately the debate should include the decision to militarize the North American space, and the utilization of the Counterintelligence Field Activity office of the Pentagon in domestic affairs/media. If someone can piece this together, including which journalist were(are) involved, this historical record will help with the framing of the "evildoers" as well as the "heroic."

I think the pope is correct when he says that ultimately good will triumph in the end though he may want inquire more thoroughly into why Cardinal George has been upset recently.

When Luther made the rallying cry of the Reformation: "Every man a King and a Priest," he was aiming to put the Bible into the hands of the people. As a result we have today the living monument called the King James Bible. Today however perhaps the rallying cry would have a tinge of irony: "Every man a spook and a spy." When the Bible speaks of "my father who sees in secret" it does not mean technologically; it requires a human attribute Joseph Campbell identified as having been missing in the human race for quite some time. The technological version is merely an abomination and we will continue to suffer the consequences until we come to terms with this.

Mr. Addington himself has said the limits would be expanded until a larger force pushed back. It is interesting to see if that larger force is Congress; if not, Addington shall see indeed the fruit of what blowback in God's mind involves.

The above post is spot on. It is fascinating to me how the "news cycle" of the day (ie the other stories) effectively buried this event. In a twisted sister sort of way, one has to admire the demonic deviousness of the OVP...this should be studied.

It is worth while for journalists to explore this topic, and a key ingredient that should be addressed is: how is this development related to China's move into Africa? What conflicts can we expect?
Does China have a "State Department" equivalent in Africa?
